Would it make sense for the gun to be firing twice as few rounds per minute as it's barrel temperature increased to the maximum possible?  Does this have any effect on the amount of bullets it's capable of firing per minute?

All machines experience fatigue. Like an engine, the more heat there is, the lower the performance, hence less ammo is distributed.

Are you saying a gun can blow up, if it heats too much? I had the assumption that a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher might if the grenade/rocket gets jammed while the trigger is pulled, or is it pressure sensitive?

I wouldn't say blow up, but parts start melting and malfunctioning

Yep! A good example would be to run your car without oil. It will heat up and parts will melt (amongst other things), but it won't blow up.

no it woulden blow up,it would melt, when your fireing a light mashine gun, or bigger you have to change the pibe in barral, when you have shot about 260 shots in one fire, if you dont change the pibe, is gonna melt and then the bulets cant come out of the barral, and then the gun will have function failure,so the gun cant shoot.

Anyway, as for the R(M) I think it's Range Of Engagement (meters). Several modern IR/motion tracking software has a similar feature, and it's labeled the same way...
