I did like the predator vs alien fight scene in the middle of avp, and I'm glad Paul Writing Sucks Anderson didn't kung fu it up, which so many films have done the last decade.

Hm, if we're using alcohol analogies, I'd say they're more Campari*. They taste horribly bitter and unappealing with every sip. You're only likely to suffer the foul taste if it's all there is and you're hopelessly addicted.

*For those of you who haven't had the miss fortune of tasting this foul stuff, don't bother. It tastes like AvP:R would if you put it through a blender.

 I really like both despite all the negative things I hear about them. AVP was okay seeing it was a first try. AvP-R fixed some mistakes though there were some new ones (I don't care really because every movie has mistakes, its something that cant be avoided) but was still really awesome in my eyes like the first AVP. I think if there is going to be a AVP 3 it will be awesome as well. Lets hope the job of making the 3rd movie falls into the right hands.

Eh...as frustrating as it ends up being, AvP R works as just a tide-me-over monster movie while I'm waiting for something good to blow it away.

I think AvP could be a lot worse. I mean...Mr. Boll could've gotten his hands on it. It's got a good visual style and some nice effects, but the characters are the weak point, and that's a kiss of death for a monster movie.

And I like AvP:R Just cause it actually was exciting. Fuck the rest of the problems, I went to enjoy myself, I did.

I can't enjoy myself at all during AvP:R, the fight scenes are all horrible in every way. No lighting, the camera's shaking and the choreography is pure shit. If the action was at least ok, I wouldn't hate this movie as much as I do.
