Just to say something about the plasmacasters and people referring to previous predator films

2 of the 3 plasma casters are like giants compared to the ones seen in the previous predator movies so I think they were suppose to be that big to fend off the aliens and they're more powerful for their objective.
Makes sense.

Quote
It wouldn't be much of a hunt if the predator from predator 2 was boasting the plasma caster celtic was suppose to get. (scar took it)
Wait, how do you know the caster Scar took was meant for Celtic?

Quote
Oh and a quick question...

Did Scar know that Chopper/Gill and Celtic were killed? I mean it's obvious he knew topside but they really didn't show much of his reaction in the entire movie did they??
Well, what was he supposed to do? Cry us a river?

Come to think of it, that would have been the funniest thing ever.  Grin

Well it's more of an assumption than anything else. Celtic seemed to be the leader of the trio and I honestly doubt the leader ever takes the weaker plasmacaster as the leader deserves the strongest ones.

I was hoping to see a sort of reaction out of Scar not just an assumption that he acknowledged the deaths offscreen.

A Predator crying a river is more horrendous than the rip off of the Alien Vs. Predator comic book this movie was made to be.

I can see it now: Scar finds Celtic and Chopper. He does the Predator scream/battle stance, but at the sky. Then kneels down and covers his face with his hands and we hear a vague coughing noise as he cries. Anderson would describe it as a very touching moment that lets us see into the Predator's more human side. I would describe it as shite.

Predator society is probably very competitive. Grieving for fallen comrades is not something I can really imagine going on. Probably something closer to the Klingon mentality...or just complete nihilism in terms of regard for their fellow 'man'. Maybe they are fiercely Darwinian.

The entire hunt was for competitive reasons and for the rite of passage but it be nice to see some sort of care because I really doubt they went in there just to let eachother die. (the last statement was directed to the people whom think Celtic let Gill get killed.)

Somehow I doubt nihilists would be so preoccupied with showy rituals marking the invisible accent to adulthood, nor would they so deeply enamor a strict set of warrior codes.  And there is also the manor of treating Scar received upon being carrierd back to the ship, which I suppose could be described as reverent and mournful.

I mis-used the word because I couldn't think of an appropriate word in it's place.

Aloof? They do seem to honor their fallen, though...but maybe only after they have proved themselves.

I always thought celtic was the stronger. Adding, Scar gets one on his back and cries out for his girlfriend to save him. Celtic fought 1v1 against the strongest xenomorph. True Scar fights the queen, but gets saved like 4 times and ends up dying anyway.

True, I also believed Celtic (They should call HIM Scar, and Scar should be called.. Mark.. or maybe Marcus..) were the strongest but also dumbest of the few. I don't care much for Scar, you could say he's clever cause of the Alien head-shield, and you could say he was a puss for using the plasma caster against those four-or-so aliens, but that was THEIR MISSION, to get the plasma casters.

I can't remember what my point would be so I guess I'll just agree with you then.

I think it should have been one pred (chopper) against one alien (grid). 1on1 would've been cool. And then save the whole multiple aliens and Queen leader crap for the sequal and then the predalien for the 3rd.

That would establish a true definitive victor and one side would NOT be happy. Having eggs in cryogenic  freeze instead of a queen would have worked.

One alien and one predator would be hard to get to work. I wouldn't mind the lone victor, but I fear the film would be suffer. "Freezed" eggs would definetly have been preferable to the queen, I don't like the tyrannosaurus queen in avp(does anyone?)
