i believe that with the selfdestruct explosion the queen got a bit warmer so the pred didnt have dificult to see her!

in infrared the preds would still see the aliens but with human filter, they wouldnt be notisable, in aliens they probably were at same temperature of the hive and marines saw them like envoirement but if marines looked with attention to the place the aliens were im sure they would see them

Ah, that might be one of those errors in moving the posts from Outbreak to here...  Whistle

Dunno if I still have the originals - apparently Flash USB memory sticks have a habit of being buggered up in the washing machine if you forget to remove them from your clothes beforehand...   Whistle

I'll check next time I'm back home.

I dunno about the alien skulls being as strong as preddies. Cause that cannon isnt that powerful and it dices through the xenos. For instance when Dutch gets hit by it and suffers little damage. This could be a factor of how powerful the cannons are. But the fact remains that in AVP the aliens didnt have any skulls.

I understood different flaws in the movie except for the super gestation. That annoyed the hell out of me.

And as to the pred vision. Wouldnt the acid be visable? I mean its hot.

I wouldn't say the cannon is not powerful...it did blow a large hole completely through Blain.

Dutch was never hit directly by the shoulder cannon. When he's shooting at the Predator before the famous 'Get to the choppa' line, it hits his gun. He's just wounded by the shrapnel.

What are you basing that on? It's corrosive, not warm. The smoke is just a chemical reaction when it's melting through stuff.

What do you mean, "no skulls"?

It would release heat as it was corroding through something, though.  (Dunno if this has any relevance or bearing on what's being said...)

Doesn't matter, Weasel was referring to the Predators seeing the Aliens through supposed heat from the acid inside their blood vessels (assuming that's what they have). I doubt that would be hot.

Actually, I was referring to the spilt blood. Like when scar was fighting the queen and she was gushing acid blood. Plus, when the facehuggers blood bleeds through the decks and they look at the damage. Dosnt Ash tell brett to 'be careful its hot' when he pokes at it with his pen?

No, Ripley says 'Careful' when Dallas pokes Brett's pen into the hole, and Parker tells him to not get any on his arm.

Where the blood spills and has a chemical reaction - i.e. it corrodes something - then it would be above the ambient temperature.  Especially on snow!

Just to say something about the plasmacasters and people referring to previous predator films

2 of the 3 plasma casters are like giants compared to the ones seen in the previous predator movies so I think they were suppose to be that big to fend off the aliens and they're more powerful for their objective.

It wouldn't be much of a hunt if the predator from predator 2 was boasting the plasma caster celtic was suppose to get. (scar took it)

Oh and a quick question...

Did Scar know that Chopper/Gill and Celtic were killed? I mean it's obvious he knew topside but they really didn't show much of his reaction in the entire movie did they??
