So my question is:
Why are they Dog Catchers and not Alien catchers?
Why would the company know about the dog? They wouldn't know the facehugger got a dog at all.
Unless the term "Dog Catcher" is actually a reference to "Dog Alien"

As per the initial post Dog Catcher is a nickname. They brought tools to handle (they hoped) a wild animal.

I was just trying to clarify that the original poster wasn't trying to assert the fact that the catchers were going to try and catch the dog.
