This thread is dedicated to JT... Lucifuge and others who dislike all or some of the films that followed ALIEN - the 1979 classic that started the saga. If you have a gripe or hatred relating to ALIENS, ALIEN3, or ALIEN RESURRECTION then post it here. (Let's leave AVP and AVP-R at the door for this one since this is in the Alien Franchise board.) And let's keep the discussions civil. If this turns into a flame war then this thread will be removed and the appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken. ...Now have at it!  |

Well the only Alien Sequel i have a major hatred for is Alien Resurrection  . I refuse to acknowledge it's existence and i still class the Alien franchise as a 'Trilogy' Everything about that movies makes my blood boil. Retarded dialogue, sh!tty storyline, over the top gimble looking newborn creature that looks like it should be modeling 70's style y-front underpants sporting a Kevin keegan perm than a...well...supposed killing machine. The film could of gone many directions, they didn't have to bring Ripley back at all. The Aliens themselves looked like they were sh!t out rather than put together (defiantly something bob the builder can't fix). Over all the film had potential but it was just badly written and in effect poorly directed. I know on or two people in here defend the director (because they've done it in other forums) i think Jean-Pierre Jeunet was a bad choice for director for this movie, so was the choice of some of the actors to. I would go on but i'd get angry |

The whole cloning and bringing RIPLEY back was pathetic  I'm not mocking you or being a smart a*se to you but that doesn't make a good story. It's unoriginal and a cop out way of making a sequel. Even though A draft was written 'without' Ripley the fox execs wanted her back and the only way to do that was to clone her because it was the only way Josh Whedon could do it. |

Sorry for the confusion, I liked the "shitload of Aliens on their way to earth" part of the story but not the cloning ripley bullshit, it should of been Alien 3. This basically means I liked the underwater sequence, the rest was shit. Easy ways it could of been improved: 1. Non-French Director 2. Alien 3 never happened; A:R is known as Alien 3 or a similar title 3. Ripley, Hicks and Newt are kept in cryosleep while gay scientist clone a queen from her slime or some bullshit. 4. It all kicks off like in A:R 5. No half-breed alien Bullshit 6. Underwater sequence last 40 minutes 7. Batman saves the day |

Yeah I made a fuss all alone in my living room then read the rest of his post and didn't bother to write something. What's wrong with the French director... I don't even want to go there, it's ridiculous. If we were to blame all the non-english directors, the list could go on and on... like I said, I didn't bother. |

I don't have a problem with Jean-Pierre Jeunet as a person/director, i just feel he was the wrong choice for Alien Resurrection. (waits for the bashing!)
