Pretty sure they have commercials. It's nothing to get excited about, but I saw a promo for it and figured I would post it. If I happen to remember, I will tune in just to see how they look. Aliens was on a few weeks ago in HD, but the signal was so fucking compressed that it looked like shit.
Can't wait for those BDs...

As far as I know there is not any HD-copies of these movies available anywhere yet, so they will be SD upscaled to HD = same picture quality. Nobody misses nothing. Still waiting for BluRay (and hoping these movies will be given totally new film scanning and digital remastering, not some upscaled s*it).

Well, Aliens looked HD and wasn't in Stretch-O-Vision. But I guess it could have been an upscale, though it seemed to look a tad sharper than the DVD.

Does BluRay actually make that much of a difference to the picture? I have heard from some of my Friends that it doesn't really make all that much of a difference. Me, I'm fine with DVD. So i never really felt the need to upgrade to BluRay. |

It makes a huge difference if the video quality is actually important to you, and if you've got the hardware to back up the transition. If you're watching a blu-ray disc on an old 32" without any kind of speaker setup, then no, you won't be able to tell any difference at all. If, however, you have a mid-to-high end setup, then the difference is remarkable.

True! Clear picture always gives energy to old movies you watch allot. Right now my Budget doesn't want it.  |
