Still riding high off the current tidal wave of success of "Avatar", Sigourney Weaver will now be making a return to host Saturday Night Live this Saturday, January 16th - after a twenty four year hiatus from the show. Weaver first appeared on SNL in 1986, in an appearance which coincided with the original theatrical release of "Aliens". If the current television advertisements promoting this upcoming Saturday night are any indication of the evening's goings on -- spoof and satire of Weaver's sci-fi work will be slivering its way into some of the skits (and in one of the promo spots, there's also a humorous reference to the current NBC late night scheduling fiasco). Check out the below link for Weaver's television promotional spots for her upcoming SNL stint -- created along with actor/comedian Bill Hader: http://www.hulu.com/watch/120287/saturday-night-live-snl-promo-sigourney-weaver-- and here's a link to a skit from Weaver's first - 1986 SNL appearance: http://www.hulu.com/watch/4195/saturday-night-live-derek-stevens-chopping-broccoli- Jay

For those that might've missed it, or for those who'd like to get a good laugh out of it again, here's a link to a portion of the Saturday Night Live broadcast which Sigourney Weaver hosted -- here you'll see James Cameron feature his "new sci-fi flick" LASER CATS 5 which showcases the return of non-other than RIPLEY. This hilarious film is very tongue-in-check in humor with more than a few movie references that you'll recognize - enjoy..! http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/clips/digital-short-laser-cats-5/1193978/- Jay

Just watch it if you haven't already! It's probably the closest we will get to "Alien 5" with Ripley, and I'll take it! Funny stuff! And Sigourney was smokin' as always!

Love the forum (my first post) It was really nice to see her strutin' her stuff again in old Ripley garb. Also was interesting to hear the history her father had with the network. I knew she had come from a privledged upbringing, but damn...
