It was great being there on Sunday.

The program started with a 2 minute introduction by L.A. Times' Geoff Boucher.  He thanked the audience for supporting the film festival.  He thanked the L.A. Times and sponsors Anime Expo and Dark Horse Comics.  Then he concluded by saying "I don't wanna hold you guys up any longer.  Because now, we're gonna scare the shit out of you.  We're gonna watch ALIEN."

They screened the director's cuts for ALIEN and BLADE RUNNER.

During the opening credits for ALIEN, there was applause for Ridley Scott and Jerry Goldsmith.  Applause for the cast during the closing credits.

During the opening credits for BLADE RUNNER, there was applause for Ridley again, and also for Jordan Cronenweth.

Quint's report at Ain't It Cool News on the Q&A breaks everything down.  I don't have much to add, other than a few photos I took.

Being sealed in a tin can for months on end would be a similar experience, whether underwater, on land, or in space. Underwater and space are the most similar because you don't just open the front door. So the former is good practice for the latter. If the Jockeys are aquatic, it may explain why their technology is largely organic in nature, since mechanical tech requires the harnessing of fire to start its development.

I took six different articles and broke them all down into bundles dealing with each subject covered in the Q& A, and still this doesn't feel like enough of the actual Q & A to me.

I've noticed that the whole of the Ridley Scott interview at the Hero Complex Festival was on youtube for a short while in six parts, and then it was taken down. This is very sad because I sure would like to see the whole interview and transcribe it rather that read these minimalistic highlights available

At the moment there are fragments of the interview available on video.
