His "suit" perhaps. Or maybe he"s just praying for the power of "yadda-yadda".
It always seemed to me like he was going up that mountain like in bible to talk to God and ask for his blessings. (Yeah I"m not too fond/good with religion) Never the less, for me it always had this sub-religious symbolism to it.

Yeah, climbing up the building to get to the top...
I never really thought about it until I was watching the promotional gallery retro featurettes. They showed a shot and I was like hm..
I also saw a shot in some of the trailers and the featurettes that was a different angle of the disc clutting through the beef. It was a little higher up and it was in regular motion, it looked pretty cool. "
