What is the alternate ending?  I never looked at all those.

Which alternate ending?  They never shot an alternate ending for Alien - though a couple were considered (egg stuck to outside of shuttle, Alien killing Ripley then talking to Earth in her voice).

Ripley tethers her spacesuit via a cable on to the Narcissus"s interior, then opens the airlock.

Ripley gets sucked out into space, and the Alien tries to pounce on her just as she"s being pulled out of the airlock.

The Alien misses, and starts sailing through space.  It grabs onto the cable attaching Ripley to the Narcissus.

Ripley turns around, aims a laser pistol and blasts the Alien right through it"s head.  Cameron take note: this does not kill the Alien.  Oh no.

Ripley then climbs up the tether into the Narcissus, closing the airlock behind her.  The Alien is now scrabbling  to try and get in.  Ripley thumbs the shuttle"s engine ignition, causing the Alien to be pushed away from the shuttle.  Then we see it explode in trhe depths of space.

Ripley goes back to sleep with Jonesy.  The last storyboard features what looks like a mature Alien curled up in the other hypersleep capsule, although I"ve no idea how it got there.

Hey, what else are you gonna use in space?

Projectile weapons are gonna be a bit troublesome with no friction to help out...

What I don"t understand is how she was able to breath after all the air had been sucked out. Maybe their was an extra cannister or something, but that"s just me.

IMO the 20th DVD is a must own for Alien fans. I mean, for the Isolated Alternate Score/Dialogue alone!

I might be able to make a MP3 of that track, actually if anyone really wants it...

Never watched the storyboards, though. Hmmm, in what movies does a headshot KILL an alien? Because having an alien keep coming after being blasted in the dome would be an awesome scene. It would make it more ALIEN, and kind of maybe make sense, since the alien probably has something closer to a central nervious system than an actual 'brain'.

Aliens (Vasquez - lots of headshots) and Alien : Resurrection (Johner - single).

Ummm, in Aliens the alien was just resting and Res isn't canon. Yeah, that's the ticket.  Smiley

I actually just got the 20th Anniversary DVD and am in the process of watching the alternate music/production audio thing.  It's darn interesting but for nerds only.   Clap
