Ok, to the point. They filmed exterior scenes in a studio. Well, considering the setting, and the city the production is based in, they'd be crazy to shoot the exterior scenes in a studio.? I'm assuming a few scenes will take place indoors, as well as other things you don't find naturally (ie. an Alien hive). And Alien's exterior scenes were also filmed in a studio.

Well, it would've been quite hard to film the surface of LV-426 on loacation, given how different it is and all!
They've got a few location people on the payroll, so I'd imagine they'd be planning to film on location rather than paying somebody scout around the studio.

Shooting in a studio gives you a more controlled environment.

It's possible. The Machinist shot in a sewer in Barcelono (I think).

Maybe, but still, good point I doubt it. I just don't remember hearing much Studio information.
