After seeing Batman: Year One, I want to do an origin story again.
Basically, similar to Year One (the animation, have not read the comic) in how Gordon is a bad-ass who makes a lot of enemies while struggling to maintain his marriage. Meanwhile, a mysterious stranger (Bruce) is the only other person trying to take down Gotham's criminal elite. Eventually, the two somewhat team up. Bruce spends most of the movie as a nameless masked vigilante with cool toys (that he himself designs). Towards the end, Gordon gets double-crossed and they kick the ever-loving shit out of him. A bullet to the brain impairs his neurological functions. Not only could a single blow to the head paralyze or kill him at this point, by his coordination and reflexes are greatly impaired, as well as his vision. He is no longer fit for the street. In the hospital, talking to a masked Bruce Wayne at 3 in the morning, he talks about how these criminals don't fear any man, giving Bruce an idea. It's this time that Bruce finally unveils the suit and becomes Batman. Only during the final action set-piece does he don the cape and cowl. Batman is able to convince Gordon to get off the streets. Batman can be the one running around kicking ass now. He has the means and the experience. The movie ends with the two characters becoming the men we are used to them being. Gordon as more of a leader and detective, Bruce Wayne as Batman.
Thinking of calling it simply 'Gotham'. 'The Batman' is the sequel, probably with Mr. Freeze.
The Batman: (Obsession). Mr. Freeze and Killer Croc as villains. Harvey Dent appears.
Batman: The Dark Knight: (Vengeance). Harvey Dent becomes Two-Face. The Penguin is the other one. He is a British butler who worked for an arms dealer, betrayed him, and took over his empire. Now he is in Gotham, arming Gotham's criminals with more powerful weapons than the city has ever seen. Machine guns, rocket launchers...the kind of shit that makes cops shit their pants. The kind of shit that criminals would seek out if Batman was a threat.

I say go the Grant Morrison route, every film is in a vague continuity, (I.E. every villain already shown on film is either in Arkham, Blackgate or on the loose and all the Bamobiles from the previous films are in the cave) and people are actually allowed to enjoy themselves.
No more origin stories. Thousands of tales out there and we keep coming back to issue #1.

I used to have a recurring dream that I found all kinds of Star Wars toys in the original boxes when I was a kid. Those were fun dreams.
Now I just dream I am not miserable. And when I wake up, I am even more miserable than my baseline.

I know nobody gives a shit, but I am using this text field for a spellcheck (I use Wordpad, hate office programs...unnecessarily complex and laggy), so I figure I might as well post as well.
Some ideas for Bruce gradually building the suit...
-Sprains his wrist punching somebody out. Builds a wrist/forearm brace (gauntlet) that locks in place and can be retracted to allow wrist movement. He tests it on a punching bag, then notices a column in the gym, and punches a big hole in it. "Hmm.". This (along with a glove) allows him to punch as hard as he can without injuring himself.
-Gets shot in the arm. It's only a graze, but he realizes his Kevlar vest isn't good enough. Designs a Kevlar body suit with ballistic plates. The survival suit from Begins, basically...only he is the one who designs it and has Wayne Enterprises fabricate it.
-Almost gets nabbed by the cops, which causes him to come up with the idea of using the rooftops. Thus, the grappling hooks
-Uses normal shurikens (soaked in a sedative) that become bat-shurikens once he takes on the persona.
-Might have to steal the memory cloth cape idea, actually...but there is also mention of how the cape makes him less of a human shape, and also harder to get a bead on as he becomes a big black blur.
