Greatest Characters in the Alien series

Who do you think are the best characters that have been created for the Alien Saga?

I'm breaking mine down by film...

Alien: Ripley (obviously), Ash

Aliens: Hicks, Newt, Bishop, Burke

Alien 3: Clemens, Gollic, Bishop II

Alien Res.: Ripley 8, Call, Johner

I'm leaving Ripley out because she's a given.

Rez: Elgyn (I guess the only character I really liked)
AVP: Charles Weyland (definitely the only character I liked)

Not that I hated the other characters for the most part. I just didn't really like them all that much, Ripley included.

in AVP Graeme Miller(Ewan Bremner) deserves more recognition. Apart from Weyland he's pretty much the only one who breathes some life into the picture out of the characters. Funny guy.

From the rest of the films it's the usual bunch: Ash, Brett, Ripley, Hicks, Hudson, Bishop, Dillon, Clemens and Andrews.

Yup, noone from res-erection, I would have liked Johner if it wasn't set in the alien universe. All the characters were wrong.

Other than Ripley...

Alien - Kane.  No contest.  First of the gang to die, and bequeather of my own personal motto: We must go on, we have to go on.  If ever we reached first contact, I'd want Kane byt my side.  Brave, fearless, extremely curious!

Aliens - I quite like Bishop. Hudson's funny.  I have a soft spot for Gorman.

Alien 3 - Morse!  He's very funny, and probably what I would be like in the same situation.  I'd have let out Golic as a thanks for all the fags as well!

Alien: Defecation - Call.  Whedon-vulnerable-yet-with-hidden-strengths-teenage-girl-dealing-with-her-problems-whilst-combating-monsters prototype no.2

Alien: Parker. He had the guts to take on a robot and an alien, had a way with the ladies, made makin' the scene with a magazine socially acceptable, and knew how to party.


Aliens: Wierzbowski. Elusive, mysterious. Has a website dedicated to him. Doles out advice in his "Ask Wierzbowski" section of that website.


Alien³: Clemens. A guy I can relate to. (I'd elaborate, but one of my bosses knows about my connection to this forum and may read this.)


Alien Resurrection: Hillard. (You guys know why...)
