Instructions for Use

SiL - thought it made more sense to have an 'AvgHost' setting, giving the average number of hosts per day a PredAlien will vomit upon, rather than how long it would take the PredAlien to do so. My thinking here is that the PredAlien spends a lot of time wandering around trying to find people (or pregnat women) to puke into, rather than having a conveyor belt operation.

Immediate conclusion: the default conditions, set to closely approximate the AVP2 set up, result in Gunnison, Colorado being depopulated within 15 days.  However, if the same initial conditions had hgappened in London (pop. approximately 8 million), the impact would be minimal (16,812 Londoners might die in various ways, but London would survive).

If we start with 5 PredAliens who can each impregnate 50 people a day, give them a lifespan of a year and set them loose in Australia with 20 facehuggers, then everyone's dead in less than a year!

Well, assuming the population is 20 million, which it was at the turn of the century. I think it's nearer the mid-20s now.

What I hadn't realised before making the sim and running some random populations through it, is that there was no need to nuke Gunnison (provided they actually knew what was happening down there!).

The PredAlien produces standard Aliens, which don't reproduce.  Once the PredAlien's gone, the Aliens go extinct.  There's no threat of North America, or even Colorado, being overrun by Aliens given the AVP2 set up.

Yep.  And HadleySim let's you compute what would happen if they transformed people into Eggs.

So...

Gunnison, Colorado
PredAlien: All humans dead by day 15.  All Aliens < =0.1 by day 45.
Alien Egg Transformers: All humans dead by Day 25.

London, UK/EU (pop c. 8 million)
PredAlien: Human survivors: 7,983,126.  All ALiens <=0.1 by day 205.
Alien Egg Transformers: All humans dead by Day 50.

I like the Aliens who transform people into Eggs.  They're a lot more efficient!

It depends on which bullshit excuse we go with, though.

If the new method is exclusive to the PA, then yes, they're boned.

If, like the Bros originally said, any Alien can do this, then it doesn't matter if the PredAlien dies.

Max population allowable in gunniSim: 99,999,999 people.

1 PredAlien (avgHost: 12, avgBurster: 4, lifespan: 28), 0 facehuggers.

Everybody dead in 10 days. 

They'd depopulate the entire planet within two weeks, and then they'd all go extinct, because nobody's left any Eggs behind.
