AVP Requiem Unrated DVD Informtion
« on: December 19, 2007, 10:26:04 AM »

I have just read a interview on IESB.net with the 2 brothers and they have said that there is going to be a Unrated Cut of AVP Requiem with about 6 to 8 minutes added to the film, and there isgoing to be 2 releases on dvd one being the R rated cut and the other being th Unrated Cut

Also in this interview there are discripsion of some scences here they are, these are not deleted scences -

Clip 1 - Opens with a Predator escape pod that lands on Earth looking for the crashed Predator ship (it crashed shortly after take-off after the new Predalien was born) from the first AVP film. This Predator is here to destroy this new breed. He lands in a lake and begins his hunt for the crashed ship and Predalien. He finds the ship, he finds a dead Predator body inside and destroys all remnants with the self-destruct device. He leaves the burning wreckage behind in search for the Predalien at large.

Clip 2 - Opens with townsfolk in a hospital morgue. It’s raining and electricity is down. A dozen or more cadavers are lying around with their chests busted open. The town sheriff is looking around for survivors in the hospital, concurrently the Predator arrives at the same hospital and breaks down the door. The people find themselves in a stairway filled with familiar alien bio-material covering the walls and floors. An alien appears and attacks and kills one of the people. The sheriff fires his rifle and kills the alien and the people run out of the stairway. One of the people, a girl named Jessie, runs down the hallway. Cut back to the Predator, he has found the human bodies in the morgue and soon finds himself in an alien bio-covered area as well. The Predalien quickly attacks the Predator. Other Predaliens join the fight and the Predator is fighting them all. He takes them all out. The last two he kills he uses these giant ninja star weapons, as the stars rip through the Predaliens they continue to fly toward Jessie, our human girl, who just ran in (seriously bad timing) and becomes impaled on the wall.

Hope U all like this

Pretty sure those scenes are from the theatrical version of the movie (several shots from the second scene appear in trailers and ads), not the Unrated cut.

I just hope Fox releases this right away, and doesn't dick around with giving us a 'Vanilla' edition first. Although it's almost certain that they will double-dip the damned movie within the first 12-18 months that it hits DVD.

You can bet your ass they will double dip. Studios do that all the time now, especially Fox.

Not really. It seems pretty random as to what ends up in that bin. AVP's not there, but (the latest releases of) T2 and First Blood are.

I'm so goddamn tired of not having the choice on one release to watch different version of the film.  Lauzirika has been a part of this type of release since around 2002 and people still aren't catching on.  On purpose too I think.

Which begs the question: why bother posting information we already have.

The amount of extra footage has not been publicly confirmed, and probably wont be for another month, or two.

Colin did speak about this briefly over at AVPG.  According to Colin the bulk of the additional footage will be devoted to character development, however I think he did mention that there were a few FX shots as well.

If the extra footage is devoted to character development it would need to be a substantial chunk of time - which I doubt it will be

In one of the many reviews, I could have sworn one of them said 6-8 minutes or something. Also, on IMDb one of them said the DVD cut is already finished.

It is.  It was done before the film released.  At this point they're polishing the supplemental material and bonus features, I believe.

However, since the DVD hasn't been officially announced and there is still some debate as to exactly how long the added footage is I'm not sure we should get too excited. ...Colin made a comment on AVPG that he thought it was 8-10 minutes.  Undecided

The length of the final DVD release doesn't concern me one way or another.

...I'm just looking forward to the supplemental material.  Mr Green returns

We'll still not see everything they cut, though. I recall Colin saying the first rough cut was 100 mins.
