Also give it an eight here. I was considering giving it a seven due to lack save functions/checkpoints and certain annoying things throughout the whole game.

All in all I really enjoyed it, despite its unpleasantness. (is that even a word) Don’t feel like going too deep into it all and explain it now, so yeah.

8/10 from Rusty Nails.

Do you know what? Don’t listen to other people’s opinions about this game, it’s not bad, plus the gadgets and shit are really cool. 7/10 so far. "

Solid 8 from me. The only downside is, like Rusty said, lack of checkpoints or in level saves or anything like that. The most annoying part of a game is when you get killed and have to start way back at the beginning of the level, especially when you’re near the end. "

I’ve only gotten about 1/10th of the way through, but I feel ready to begin a WIP (Work In Progress) Review. I’ll update it as play experience changes through the Singleplayer Campaign.

Graphics: You guys, from what I’ve read so far, are being way, way, way too harsh. The Graphical quality is quite good, especially for a console-game (would have been much better on a PC, though  Wink )

The Predator model itself is excellent. Top notch. The People, not so much, but still quite passable. Enviornments aren’t the most detailed in the world, but they aren’t dull, either. Spent the better part of an hour so far just exploring the cities  Smiley .

Effects for most weapons are passable, with one or two exceptional examples (Plasmacaster). However, many of the weapons feel rather...weak, and unfulfilling to use, such as the Combistick and speargun.

Sounds: Frankly, I was rather unimpressed with most of the Weapon Sound Effects and Music. With the exception of the First level, the music is dull and silly at times (The Boss Fight with the Servitoures Leader, for instance). The weapons also feel lackluster, though it may be that I’m just not paying as mcuh attention to the music as I am the Graphics.

Predator Voices seem ripped straight from the movies, so no issues there. The Narrator and Other Human voices, on the other hand, nearly drove me to sleep. At times.

Controls: Ugh. I couldn’t stand the Control Layout. The Tutorial didn’t help at all, and eventually, I just had to settle for memorizing them after much time and smashing of the Controller. Disappointing, to say the least.

Story: The Games storyline isn’t bad at all (so far), but the telling of it could have been done much better. The Sleep-inducing Narrator does a clumsy job of it. Also, I’m having trouble figuring out whats happening when, especially on the Dead Men level.

Gameplay: Here’s where the game shines, IMO. Few things rival some of the freaky crap you can pull off in this. Honestly, I can’t think of any games at all where you can do anything remotely resembling Breaking a person’s body 2 ways, then ripping them in half, or skinning a person while he’s still alive. The player can do things in this game that would make Danny Glover and Ah-nold cry themselves to sleep in fear. Stealth aspects aren’t bad, but I have to admit, more than once already I’ve been extremely pissed off at the relatively short Cloak and E-Weapon times. Nothing worse than having your cloak Fizzle out While in the middle of 2 Assault droids and a group of Riot police.

Overall: 8/10. Despite a few flaws, the game is a load of fun to play. It also doesn’t look to be stupidly short, like the 40 other recently released Console/PC games. "

Ok, time for Part 2. I’m going to hit the game HARD, now.

A.I.: It seems in the 2030, humanity as a whole has undergone mass-retardation. Honestly, I didn’t notice it at first, but time has helped Iron out my view on this: Enemy A.I., simply put, sucks nuts.

Example. Two Guards, standing less then 2 meters from each other, on a horizontal line. I move up, execute one while listening to him/her scream and beg (an enjoyable feature, in all honesty). SCREAM and BEG, people, and not a peep from the Other people in the area.

Enemy tactics are laughable, usually. Run towards Pred, shoot gun, hit with bat, rinse, repeat. Occasionally they’ll run away (for no apparent reason). You’d think a 2-3 Meter tall Armored alien would be more intimidating than that.

Tutorial: A complete and utter failure. I went through it twice, and it I still had to learn through many missions (and deaths). Whats more, the whole tutorial itself seemed rather Half-assed. The way it SHOULD have been done was to implement the different lessons into actual missions.

Controls (revised): Ok, I’m getting pissed off. P:CJ definately suffers from the "Too many options, not enough buttons" syndrome. Completely fucks up immersion.

Lack of Ingame Save: I feel this deserves its own category, because it’s JUST THAT FUCKING FRUSTRATING. You haven’t seen HELL until you tried a 30 minute mission 12 TIMES, FROM BEGINNING TO END.

Characters: They range from the OK, to the Exceptional, to the Downright silly and bizarre.

OK- Les Serviteurs. King Willy and that Voodoo gang, anyone?

Exceptional- Ulysses Assault Droids. No matter how many times I do it, it’s still just so much fun to Jump onto a droid, bash open it’s hatch, and tear and smash the head of the Synth piloting it.

Silly and Bizarre- Baby Blew and her girls. Who the fuck thought a group of Murderous Ex-Porn Star Hookers would make for an interesting villain faction. Something tells me the Developers need to get out a WHOLE lot more.

Revised Score: 7.3 "

I found the last boss much sillier and bizarre than Baby Blew and the girls. As strange as they were, I found the girls to be a somewhat interesting addition. I never expected enemies like them. I’ve got to admit that killing porn stars, pimps and hookers was fun.  Smiley

Btw, the rock music in that church level kicks ass.  Tongue  "

The Public/Fan reviews are what really count, adn they tend to put it on average from 6-8. "
