I'm sorry but after listening to him in the Fight Club commentary and watching The Italian Job (As well as learning what a total douche he was about it) I don't really like him. In terms of today's wave of intense angry actors he's far behind Bale, Wahlberg, Owen, Bana, et all in my opinion.

I still think he's too big. It was ridiculous in the first one, but at least this is an improvement. I wish he'd be about 3/4 of the size he is there. That would at least look plausible. Sortof like the original (TV) series. (I don't know anything about the comics where he was originally gray)

He could maybe be a foot, foot and a half shorter and it would be a bit better...but I dunno. We'll see how it pans out.

Game Over

For some reason Roger Ebert is showing "Hulk" at Ebertfest (Ang Lee is showing up for it) and it was the first movie that sold out. I personally need to grab a ticket for The Cell.

Hmmm, nothing terribly awesome in the new trailer. It looks decent, but not amazing. Looks better than Ang Lee's version.
I thought it was kind of funny that they used a few notes from the 80s TV series at the end of the trailer. Anybody else catch that? I wonder if it'll be in the movie proper...

"What the hell are you?"

I seen the film. It was a vast improvement from the 2003 version which I never hated like so many do. The CGI was a big improvement and I loved the similarities to the TV show which I love. All and all, damn good action flick.

I don't mind Ang's film either, but this is Hulk as it should have been.

Sequel ideas...(keep in mind, I don't read comics, so if I rape any characters, it's because I don't know any better)
Samuel Sterns, AKA The Leader will be the main villain. The movie opens with him in a sparse SHIELD holding cell, calmly talking to a SHIELD agent. He starts developing his powers. Through a series of scenes that run paralell to Bruce Banner trying to control The Hulk, we see him demonstrate telekinesis (making the agent spill hot coffee all over his shirt when he tries to take a sip), psychic abilities (weirding out an agent by mentioning his wife and son by name), and finally breaking out by mind controlling several agents. Including one beat where he makes an agent put a gun to his head and gives him an ultimatum: Open the door, or blows your own brains out.
Sterns makes it to a sublevel of the SHIELD facility and finds Abomination, cryogenically frozen. He transports him back to whatever lab/hideout he'll be using and performs surgery. He fits Blonsky with a device in his heart that can defibrillate his heart if he goes into flatline, administer adrenaline when needed, and also introduce a paralytic agent, so that he can be controlled. All of these are of course controlled by Stern's brain. He awakes Blonsky and convinces him to join him, promising him 'further enhancements'. At this point, Blonsky only really cares about two things: Killing The Hulk (not Banner, but the Hulk) and gaining more power. He is obsessed with power, and doesn't even care what it's done to his physical form (as he cannot change back into human form, he's a monster 24/7).

ok....here we go hehe
i gotta say,its better than the first hulk film for sure and its certainly not too bad,but its hardly a great film by any means, strongly average for me. it starts of kinda slow in brazil and yr not too sure whats going on really, things do progress ok building the story, but the first hulk rage scene is where i noticed he isnt gonna look as good as i thought he may.still i liked what i was seeing.afew plot holes appear here n there like how does banner get from brazil to the US? one minute he's in the jungle next minute he's back in the states somewhere.anyway,u get the real hulk on the uni campus sequence, again weird little plot holes like how did the army know he was there? and banner see's them pretty quickly and comfortably haha.its here where there's a real battle but to be honest i wasnt impressed by the effects to be honest...very average, and the hulk also looked pretty average, not much better than ang lee's version.the only scene he does look good is the night rain sequence after the battle.
from there it went abit down hill for me,the story is fine with plenty of good homages (including music) but the finale battles with abomination are pretty basic lookin, nothing we havent seen before, and abomination looks pretty crap as well frankly.the action moves so fast at the end u cant really keep pace with the blows, its all very overblown but i kinda expected that.thats the problem with huge characters like hulk, abomination, thing etc...they are so fast, frantic, big n powerful......for them to move and fight realistically they have to appear very fast and fluid, obviously double or triple the times of a regular person, but thats makes it hard to view really.its all a big flash, bang, blurr on the screen....tricky to do i know.
its an ok film but not great, kinda just above average maybe.the cast are very good and save the film really, especially norton, roth and hurt.they do bring some realism to the film which helps alot, another annoying stan lee cameo im afraid hmmm. the ending is pretty open with a massive positive for a certain team movie haha yeah i think its happening now.its ok but iron man is still the best comicbook flick this yr.
