Tool - 10,000 days
« on: April 18, 2006, 06:01:36 PM »

So I've listened to the album about uh, two or three times right now.

Currently having a hard time placing it, I has alot of influences from Undertow, ?nema and some stuff from Lateralus as well.

They all have their charm I guess, but there's just something about the songs that doesn't feel quite complete. Repetitive guitar riffs get tiresome in the end, and the climax in the songs never really reaches that same level that you could get a kick out of listening to for example Aenima or The Grudge (read: AAAAAA~~~).

But it's a pretty good album never the less, I just have to listen in to it some more.

Tracklist are as follow:
01 - Vicarious [7:08]
02 - Jambi [7:30]
03 - Wings for Marie (part 1) [6:13]
04 - 10,000 days (Wings part 2) [11:15]
05 - The Pot [6:24]
06 - Lipan Conjuring [1:13]
07 - Lost Keys [3:48]
08 - Rosetta Stoned [11:13]
09 - Intension [7:23]
10 - Right in two [8:57]
11 - Viginti Tres [5:02]

So far, Vicarious is by far my favourite song, closely followed by Wings for Marie & 10,000 days (they're connected).

Did anyone else get a chance of listening to it yet?

PS: Release date is May 2nd. Tongue

Didn't get a chance to listen to it, but I'm looking out for it. I'll get it in three weeks, maybe. Play.com isn't all that reliable went it comes to deliveries.
