If you can't believe Ron Perlman would take shit roles, just look at Ben Kingsley, or should I say SIR Ben Kingsley.

Everyone has a price.

Man on Fire (2004)

The film is also a bit slow really as we see 'Creasy' gradually gain 'Lupita's' trust and friendship which is needed of course but basically the fun doesn't kick in until she is stolen away, until then your just watching filler as it were.

I've only watched it once but I actually thought the opposite, I enjoyed the first part of the film. After she got kidnapped though I started to get bored...it was like Dakota Fanning vanished along with the film lol. I kinda agree with these quotes below from three different critics...

"Not too many R-rated revenge pics depend on Uptown Girls' Dakota Fanning for the stronger scenes. Yet once the 10-year-old star exits the picture, Man on Fire starts blowing a lot of smoke".

"The first hour is sharply directed, character-driven drama that ranks with Scott's best work. Then he lapses into his usual mode - more a bombardier than an entertainer...a wasted opportunity".

"It feels like two different movies aimed at two different audiences".

I really like Man on Fire but I agree that it loses a really important dimension after the kidnapping. It's middle parts are kind of saved by the extreme visual style and a few Christopher Walken appearances along with some tracks from NIN.

Act of Valor

I am going to do a proper review, not some lame as copy and paste like someone else does. First off, if you know me you understand I have some knowledge in this field. As a disclaimer, I am not a Navy SEAL. I always wanted to be. Up until I was in high school, but The Army was a better fit for me.

That being said. This film will make you grow a pair if you do not genetically own one, or two. It is fucking brilliant. REALISTIC! And accurate! It is a roller-coster of emotion. I wept, I cried! I admit that! Challange me! I dare you.

The cast is the best. Other than Sanchez, it is no one. The SEAL's are fucking real. The tactics are real. The weapons are real. You CANNOT BEAT THIS! If you lack a pulse then you will not like it.

It is crystal, it is clear, GRab your fucking sack and love it. Politicas aside, which is hard here because the film uses real world situations in actual hotspots all around the globe, unfortunately the enemy remains the same in all movies now-a-days but it matters little. Because in the worlds current climate, it is real deal fucking shit that will never get better before it gets worse. Of course we are talking about the Middle East, NOT EVERYONE inside the various nations, just the few that are giving them all a bad name because they are not wired correctly, and see things, and read a religious script differently than the sane rational ones do. Jihadist's and Al-Qaeda.

SUCK IT UP!

I never rank a film a 1 or a 10 out of 10. My favorites are Casablanca, Jaws, and Apocalypse Now, in no order... Each I rank a 9.5, but this film...

I give a 10. Hands down.

Slither

Cheesy fun. I think I used to watch this film religiously in 2006, I still remembered it beat for beat.

Bad Boys

Smith, or Penn? I am going to assume Smith, but the Penn one would compliment The Warrior better...

Man, I need to see Act of Valor. I need something big, loud with brass balls to wash away all the Twilight shit I've been watching with the wife.

There's still no official UK Blu-Ray yet, and I'm trying so hard not to download it.

The best comedy of the 90's easily.

Not actually my wife: girlfriend. Marriage scares the shit out of me.

May? I read that the US release is in June, so hopefully it won't be too far away, and maybe in time to get it for my birthday.

I'm not a mod or admin here, but it's probably my duty to tell you that there are other boards in certain corners of the internet you can refer to places as "****************" and go to tell people they're heathens and they need to die. All because of a fucking movie.

Please cut that shit out here.

Or take it to the boozed up ramblings thread.
