We learned of some very interesting news that has me jumping for joy. We discovered that Fox Home Entertainment is currently working on brand new Blu-ray releases for Alien, Aliens and Alien 3. Each film is said to be released in a new special edition set with brand new special features made just for these releases! The only concern I have is Fox's lackluster Blu-ray releases, where the quality looks like a simple up-convert as opposed to a brand new transfer (see Predator, Commando, Donnie Darko and numerous others). No release date has been set, but I'm praying we see this before year's end. Source. Sure hope it's true!

Great news! I refuse to watch the Alien films again until I've got them in 1080p! Noticeably Alien Resurrection wasn't mentioned. Whilst I think a trilogy equates to a stronger series, Res would look amazing in high-def.

Awesome news! Can't wait. Can't afford...I might have to do something....I dunno, you come up with something! to buy these fuckers.
Predator Blu looks like an upconvert? Sorry, but no. I compared the DVD using an upconverting DVD player and the BD. HD is HD, upconverted HD is still low-res. So the fact that it's in 1080p really improves the pic, even if it's still a dirty, grainy, noisy print with a lot of serious issues. I expect Aliens to look the same, but Alien and Alien3 should look nice.

Ooooh! New special features...
I'd settle for an uncut Wreckage & Rape!

Apparently a moderater for High-def Digest remembers a member saying they know a girl who is working on the restorations. Just thought I'd mention that to throw a little more weight behind the news!
