Fox want Riddles - and they're STILL getting lambasted? Am I missing something?
I'm just worried that the two sides will agree to disagree on Rinsch and the project dies on the table. If Ridley does agree to direct then I'll be ecstatic!

There's no way it's going to die, methinks. That's what scares me too. If Ridley backs out they'll look for someone else, someone that's happy to allow the studio to have their say creatively.

Pretty sure you'll find most in the thread considered it good news. I just think most are finding it hard to reconcile the concept of 20th Century Fox in their current form wanting an expensive Academy Award nominee over a nobody music video director. 1. That guy stole Izzets joke. 2. Don't know why people are joking, Fox do factually sabotage their own projects.

Just give it to Rinsch, goddamit! If Riddles wanted to direct it, he would've taken the project anyway.

I have a better idea. Delay the project by five years and let Rinsch cut his teeth on some original films so we don't get another Requiem level disaster on our hands.

Nah, just another AVP style disaster!
I imagine that Scott Free productions would be on hand to ensure that it wouldn't turn into another AVPR based disaster and earn their production fee.

I thought it was fucking hilarious what they wrote about Twilight in that article You have to admit, when the author of a Vampire book admits to having not read Dracula by Bram Stoker, they have a right to go ape shit on her.

She's not just never read any vampire books, but also never seen any vampire films either. It's because they're scary.

He was also asked about the recent rumor that director Carl Rinsch, who Scott said was attached to direct the Alien prequel, was not who 20th Century Fox wanted. The studio reportedly want his brother, Ridley, to direct instead.
"I'm going to call a time out on that one," he said, though he still seemed optimistic things would work out. "I don't want to get caught in the middle. We're in process on that, but I don't have enough information to bring it to this table, but we're going to make it." Source

Personally I think if Riddles doesnt wanna direct an Alien prequel/reboot....whatever, then the project should be left well n truely alone, otherwise it will be AvP all over, a forced film which wasnt done right which really SHOULD of been done right and SHOULD of been ultra cool.
No Riddles no film.
