They considered a number of pitches, but Anderson still went to them with his idea, which he claimed to have pitched back in '94. Davis said that Anderson's script was chosen because it met his criteria, not that it was written for his criteria.

Hmmm....ok. Mind you Im not kicking Anderssons idea, I liked what I was hearing about AvP in the early stages, but it was just so very badly handled by everyone concerned.
