Holy! The boards grew! From what I read, this looks like a groovy system working here. Cheers for the work!

Yeah, this will be perfect for you Mike, as I know you like post merchandise news and stuff. Now you can just drop it in the Merchandise News board and it's done! Sweet! Now, you know me - always asking detail questions: Should we start moving older news treads from the Network Relay to the appropriate new news boards? Or just let the Network Relay stay as it is and start fresh with the new boards?

Hmmm... I can try moving some of the older posts here in the forums... Never thought of that. I was just thinking about adding the news posts from the mainsite (which can't really be done as topics here in the forums can't be backdated).
I'll try a couple and see what happens.

I wasn't thinking of posts from other forums just posts from the Network Relay. Things like ALIEN War set to reopen, New ALIENS Comic, etc. I wasn't thinking about moving threads from Synth Lab or Simulation Programs. And I hadn't considered the back dating thing... yeah that wouldn't work. All moved threads would reflect the date moved. Starting fresh with the new boards is cool, I was just throwing out a thought... you know me.

I just moved one from the Synth Lab you originally posted... Worked with the original date, however... And I hadn't considered the back dating thing... yeah that wouldn't work. All moved threads would reflect the date moved. Doesn't seem to be an issue if you uncheck the box "Post a redirect topic". Starting fresh with the new boards is cool, I was just throwing out a thought... you know me. The only thing is I only want topics started by staff in the new news boards. And we might have to do some cleaning up with formating (I'm a bit anal when it comes to the way news is posted ).

Oh... he he... I just moved one from the Synth Lab you originally posted... I see that. Worked with the original date, however... Doesn't seem to be an issue if you uncheck the box "Post a redirect topic". Cool, good to know. The only thing is I only want topics started by staff in the new news boards. And we might have to do some cleaning up with formating (I'm a bit anal when it comes to the way news is posted ). Roger that, and I understand. And instead of having to clean up old posts then we should just start fresh. ...I think I was letting my thoughts get a head of me.

And instead of having to clean up old posts then we should just start fresh. Prolly best. Too bad, though, lots of good info in both the other boards and the main site... ...I think I was letting my thoughts get a head of me. Hey, no worries! Bouncing ideas off one another is never bad.

Okay, got all the CSS formating done for the way I want the news to look on the main page. Only thing is I like two different ways and need help deciding which one to stick with. Option 1: News has alternating backgrounds with a small black border around each post and small spacing between each post. Option 2: News has alternating backgrounds flush to the outside border and no spacing between posts. Rusty, Thedus, you guys have great eyes for design... which do you guys like? Anyone else feel free to add your 2 cents too! Wish O'Malley was around!

Well, it certainly looks better with the black border and a minor seperation. I would stick with it.
