Oh no, not on blu-ray as well!?! Got alien/ aliens on video, Got quadrilogy on dvd, Now i'll feel compelled to buy it on blu-ray (and a player) for fear of missing something ! I feel i'm being exploited in a most sinister manner..... they know i can't resist...

It's not as if this is some kind of shameless money-grab double dip. People want these movies in 1080p. I demand it, actually.

Hey man I feel your pain. I don't have a Blu-Ray player either. Going to have to shell out the coin too.

Same! I'll buy a blu-ray player probably in conjunction with the new Quadrilogy. There ought to be some reasonable priced (and good ones!) out there by then. I have faith in Samsung!

Same. Although I have a Samsung DVD player and I'm not that happy with it. Lots of flicker when there are quick cutting scenes or something like gunfire or whatnot.

Blu-ray players will probably be below the 100-dollar mark (for the more no-frills models) by Xmas. Wal-mart already has a Magnavox for 130 on their site.

$130 = $140,881 $100 = $108,37
Ahh, I can't wait to delve into the wonders of blu-rays. For the moment I'll have to either download and watch them on the computer (plugged into my TV) or at some friends on their BD players.

Still over double the resolution of the DVDs you have right now, my friend. Of course, if it's a smaller TV, it won't really matter, I guess.

My TV is another thing I'll have to upgrade soon. Only have a regular 27" Sorny or some such shit.

Thing is , i go into a tv shop... they have the whole HD, blu-ray experience going on (of course) and i can see the difference.... Also i live in England and i know they will make me pay more compared to America or Japan... or most of the rest of western Europe.

Hey mission, go to multiregion magic online for DVD and Bluray players, all are modded for multi region (Blu and DVD) http://www.mrmdvd.com/catalog/Sony and Panasonic are the main options, I got a Panasonic BD60 multiregion Blu and DVD. They are real good and have been around for many yrs, based in Peterborough but expensive of course, well worth it for something to have for along time, no re-buying of new models required for ages
