First off, greetings Dennis! Welcome to the forums!

Absolutely no problem to help out. We have virtually unlimited bandwidth so hosting the file would be my pleasure.

We could post it up for streaming or download or both. Whatever would help you out most.

Let me know where I can download the file so I can get it on our servers and I'll make it so.

By the way, great documentary, I really enjoyed it!

Thank you, It was fun making the film as I got to rediscover stuff I had missed while in the shooting stage.
Can I FTP the file?

I know it was! But, if I knew that it could buy something from either the guy who had painted the cover of ELP's Brain Salad Surgery or from one of his associates I would have mortgaged my house!

(Just kidding!)

In all seriousness, welcome to our forum!

My friend and colleague Dennis Lowe has done a wonderful job with his feature length doc ALIEN MAKERS and it is outstanding of you guys to agree to help host this film considering the sheer number of plays and interest since he unveiled his movie on the internet a few days ago. We have been taken aback somewhat at the level on interest in a movie we all worked on in the realisation even then it was a unique film being made at a unique time by a unique bunch of people and that we were only ever going to make ALIEN with the freedom we had for the first time...once.

As you all know, it's the 30th Anniversary of ALIEN this year, and in like celebratory mood I have composed an entire tribute album of original soundtrack music, ALIEN 5, which is a FREE download for now.

You can access this either from Dennis'  ALIEN MAKERS display or from www.jonsorensen.co.uk

You'll also know that Fox are releasing a special 30th Anniversary BLU-RAY of the original ALIEN this year which will also feature some of our behind the scenes never before seen stills and transparencies.

But Dennis' ALIEN MAKERS remains the true reflection and labour of love, a professional doc made by a leading member of the ALIEN miniatures team, featuring other members of that team letting their memories all hang out for you, and letting you in on at least some of our stories.

It's a true pleasure to join Dennis to say hello to all of you here.

Hi Jon and welcome!

You've caught me off guard here... are you saying there will be a stand-alone 30th anniversary commemorative Alien Blu-Ray released this year? I knew about the Alien Quadrilogy Blu-Ray boxset that's in the works, but I didn't know about a separate Alien disc on its own...

Now I'm definitely going to have to buy that Blu-Ray player!

Definitely going to check that out! Thanks for sharing.

A very big big hello and welcome to both of you Jon and Dennis!  It's an honor and a delight to have you here.  Mr Green returns

Even after watching the Alien Makers docu online I would love to have it on DVD.   Is there a URL for placing orders/pre-orders?   I know I'm not the only one here who has an interest in owning it on disc. Wink

By the way: fantastic job on the documentary!  Really a top notch look at the making of a classic in contemporary cinema.  Clap

Right from the start it was planned to get the DVD out to as many people as possible and thanks to Hicks I am now uploading first the FLV flash file of the film (640x384) and afterwards the DVD ISO files (NTSC and PAL) for eventual download.
The ISO files are 4.3 GB so will take a couple of days with my upload limit I am feeling.

Excellent! Glad to see the FTP worked for you.

So, if I'm reading you right, we can download the ISO and burn a copy of the DVD for ourselves...?

That's kosher?

That's right, I'd like to encourage the copying of the movie as it was done as a gesture for all those happy years that the experience gave to me (and the fact of the 30th has finally arrived) and we may not have too many years left!!....

Hi, Back and thank you all very much for the welcome.

I believe you are right and that the ALIEN BLU-RAY will feature on Fox's new "Quadrilogy". (I just checked this on the "release form" they sent to us for the new stills material we all supplied). Yes, it is the quadrilogy.

A handful of these new stills are already hosted on Dennis's own excellent website on adjacent pages to his ALIEN MAKERS film.

Again, a real pleasure.

I mentioned originally that a unique bunch of people crewed the miniatures and I'd like to clarify that further in that there was a complete lack of ego in everything we created and in the relationships within the miniatures team over the entire year we worked together. That was unique. Look forward to sharing more with you all, as I know Dennis is too.

I really got a good sense of that watching the documentary. Everyone seemed to be working for the betterment of the film and not their own fame. Probably one of the reasons the film was so well made!
