I've done far worse Wink

If it's contributory to the discussion it doesn't really matter in my view.
Isn't this what they're afraid will cause black holes and destroy Earth or something? Also, if they're trying to prove alternate dimensions and such, I'm sensing Doom or Mist like scenarios...... Tongue
yeah, but that's all just bollocks... There's no solid reason to believe that. Also, with about 80 nations involved in it, who would you blame?  Grin

If that works, Super String theory will basically be proven.

No it won't!  Wink

It'll be another confirmation of the Standard Model, but it won't prove or disprove String Theory.

well, Stephen Hawking seems to think otherwise:

(about supersymmetric partner particles that may be found by the LHC)
Quote
"Their existence would be a key confirmation of string theory, and they could make up the mysterious dark matter that holds galaxies together. Whatever the LHC finds, or fails to find, the results will tell us a lot about the structure of the Universe."

Maybe I exaggerated when I called it proof. But it would be a pretty strong indication in favor of string theory.
