Um, is it just me or did this album suck badly?
Sorry, but whatever Axel had with the original Guns 'N' Roses he left behind. The best track is the title track and even that isn't very good. Not up to GNR standards, anyway. The pseudo-GNR, Velvet Revolver, was waaaaay better than this.

Agreed, I was let down, expecially when ACDC's Black Ice was actually pretty good.

Didn't get a chance to checkout Black Ice (aside from the title track which was popular on the radio). Was pretty good, eh?
I usually love whatever AC/DC does. Hard as a Rock, love it baby!
Maybe I'll give it a listen.

Maybe pretty good is an exaggeration. But it's definitely far superior to Chinese Democracy.
Rock'n'Roll Train is my favourite track personally.

Can this wait? I need to do some calibrations

Not much of a GNR fan myself but Shacklers Revenge was a great track.

To me the whole album was just 'meh'. Nothing really stood out as notable. There were signs of classic Axel, vocals and song structure, but it really was a shadow of its former self.

It just sounded tired, I suppose.

That would be a good way to describe it, yes.

It was mixed badly and over-produced, but undeneath all the sheen and multiple guitar parts are some good songs. Particularly like Better, Street of Dreams and There Was A Time. I like the out and out rock a lot less because they don't stand comparably to Appetite.

Overproduced pop-metal bollocks. Can't believe it took him 15 years to make the bloody thing.

Guns n Roses have been in the press again a bit lately, bottled off stage lol...and having the power switched off while performing because of a curfew. It was mixed badly and over-produced, but undeneath all the sheen and multiple guitar parts are some good songs. Particularly like Better, Street of Dreams and There Was A Time. I like the out and out rock a lot less because they don't stand comparably to Appetite.
There Was A Time has some great guitar, I like 'Sorry' as well.
