Takhen, an anonymous source of Aliens: Colonial Marines information, has posted up two supposed in-game stills from an in-development version the game in the Gearbox forums: Looks a lot like Bishop's lower half laying in the middle of the road. Nice touch! You can checkout larger versions of the images in our gallery. Thanks to Aliens: Colonial Marines for the news.

Nice! I like the grain in the shots. I really do hope this gets to see the light of day. I'm positive this'll be a much better game than AvP3, not that I hope for any to be bad - I just think it's fucking overdue we get a just Alien game. AvP just doesn't excite me anymore.

Agreed. Not that I'm not looking forward to AVP and I'm definitely going to buy it, but if I had to choose I'd go with A: CM too.

Those stills are more exciting than anything I've seen in AvP so far. Please, please don't get canned.

Please, please don't get canned. Ditto! I'm looking forward to AVP3, but given a choice I'd rather have A:CM see the light of day.

To be honest, I never really liked any of the AVP games all that much. Too fast-paced and kind of generic FPS seeming (the Jag version wasn't, but it was just impossible and boring). They weren't bad, but just not my cup of tea. Something a little more tactical would be nice. A:CM looks nice. One of the reasons I bought a PS3 (though, only by about 1 or 2%). I hope they don't shitcan it.

To be honest I'm not real excited about Rebellion doing this AVP. I would have preferred someone like Ubisoft, Treyarch, Epic or Infinity Ward. So far, to me, the gameplay looks clunky and awkward, the graphics and textures don't impress me, and the Predator seems way to overpowered. I hope some strides are made before the final product.

I think everyone would rather have A:CM than the AvP game. A:CM just looks a lot more impressive.

Currently seeking Jagermeister sponsorship. One'a these days Sean Pertwee's gonna be in a movie where he doesn't die and he's going to kill every motherfucker ever.

That and it hasn't been done before. This will be how many versions of an AVP game?

Three? And I agree -- AvP has been done before. I hope that ACM will be fresh.

More than that. There was AVP for SNES, AVP for Jaguar, AVP for Gameboy, AVP the arcade game, AVP: Extinction for Xbox/PS2, the two original AVP games for PC and a few mobile phone games, I think.

I remember the feeling of horror I had when I was playing Alien Trilogy years ago and I got to the level when I first found a cocooned colonist. In a quiet, pathetic voice he or she said 'kill me'. With Aliens Colonial Marines and the PS3/XBox 360 graphics that moment is going to be horrifying again but fantastic at the same time.

Originally there was going to be a Aliens RPG. That's been cancelled as far as I know.
