The only things I really hate hate like really hate about the AvP films are how the preds are overpowered, and viewed as the 'good guys' (but then again that just makes aliens that much more evil and evil is badass) and how Scar and lex almost frig gen kissed at the end of the first movie, that just pissed me off beyond anything you can imagine, I wanted to cuss out fox so frig gen bad. In AvP-R the Aliens were WAY too underpowered, the one alien could have ripped that damn predator in half, and not to mention he was resilient to acid blood apparently (wtf wtf w...t...f...) other than that they were good movies. Wane terribly in comparison to their parent franchises, but they're still good movies.

There is alot more about them that I like then I hate (And trust me, no you don't. ) for instance, the CG effects were awesome, the alien life cycle was actually normal, unlike in Resurrection, but I don't consider it part of the main Alien series since it was supposed to be a reboot of it which failed miserably. They actually made the creatures NOT look like steaming piles of shit on legs and the sets were awesome, not in AvP-R, the setting could have been better, another thing I like is how well the two creatures reacted together, example: The Grid vs. Celtic battle, the Chet vs. Wolf battle, or the Queen vs. Scar and Lex battle (my favorite.) and let's not forget the fantastic flying vaginae (face huggers) =D

No, Resurrection was perfectly normal until the Queen added a second cycle caused by genetic crossing with Ripley.  Made perfect sense in the context of the film.  Unlike the shite served up in the AvPs.

The Grid vs. Celtic battle, the Chet vs. Wolf battle, or the Queen vs. Scar and Lex battle (my favorite.)

Pity that for all the touted 'versing' it only equalled a few minutes of actual screen time.

It would have sucked if they were any longer. If you drag something out too long it gets dull and looses its freshness.

Nothing was pure, all the creatures had human DNA in them, Ripley had Alien DNA in her, nothing was pure in that entire movie.

The Predators added in a hormone that made her breed faster, so the hunt could begin more quickly.

The PredAlien was implanting embryos so that it could have more helping hands in the creation of the hive, Chet was a Praetorian you know? It wouldn't need to create eggs because it was already part of the way there, Kane's Son did this because it was not old enough to become a Praetorian yet... and it did not have enough helping hands in the first place...

So everything from the hugger attack in medical, right up to the loader battle in Aliens was dull?  AvP had all of about 7 or 8 minutes of actual Alien and Predator fighting.  Pretty pissweak from a 100 minute film.

Here’s how you do it without making up bullshit like barfing down a pregnant chicks throat so the embryos magically end up in her womb.  Let’s pretend the PredAlien (may its name be forever cursed) was a young Queen (or Praetorian whatever hell they are this week) and isn’t ready to start laying eggs.  It grabs two hosts.  One is morphed into an egg. Which hatches and impregnates the other host.  Less than 24 hours and you have another Alien.  That Alien morphs it’s former host into an egg.  The Alien and PredAlien (may its name be forever cursed) grab 2 more hosts each.  Two are egged and two are used as hosts.  The hosts are then egged.  So by the time the PredAlien (may its name be forever cursed) is ready to start popping out eggs like a Queen really should, she has three minions and a clutch of eggs ready to go, in less than 48 hours.

But no, we have to cater to the ADD generation and piss off the long time fans for some inexplicable reason.  The egg morphing could’ve been way more creepy than the gratuitous belly bursters.

The reason Chet did NOT proceed forward with the Egg morphing was because it would
1 - Take Too Long
2 - They were in a tight spot with an entire town out to get them and a blooded predator warrior, so yeah.
