This bit of news is cutting it very close! Especially since the classes start in two days (25 July, 2009), but for those with the means this could be a worthwhile event. The International Academy of Film and Television is offering a two day intensive entitled Acting: On Set, INTENSITY, On Action in Venice, California 25 July and 26 July, 2009. "The International Academy of Film and Television is expanding its short-term workshop program with courses based in Los Angeles, and launches with a new Acting workshop featuring top industry talent Michael Biehn.
The first workshop, "On Set / Intensity / On Action," is a rare opportunity to work with this veteran Action star (The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss), and will be held July 25-26, 2009 at The Electric Lodge in Venice, CA. For details on enrollment fees and requirements, please call 310-526-7825.
"On Set / Intensity / On Action" is a special two-day intensive workshop focusing on three main topics: The Profession, Concentration and Intensity. Offering his approach to acting, working with top directors and what has helped him to star and succeed in some of the best Action blockbusters to come out of Hollywood, Michael will help actors particularly interested in Action films gain a better understanding of the emotional intensity required for this genre."For more information visit the IAFT blog or IAFT's official websiteIt looks like there is still space available for the course, so for those in the area this could be a once in a lifetime experience to learn from a legend. ...I'd be jumping on this if I weren't on the opposite coast! The course is $349.00, or it can be audited for $149.00. PayPal is accepted. Thanks to Willie Goldman of Aliens Legacy for sharing this.

That'd be quite interesting. Hopefully someone close enough will be able to take advantage of this opportunity.

Damn, if I were in L.A. I'd go. I did this with a high profile Dutch actor last year (he's in Verhoeven's Soldier of Orange as well as in A Bridge Too Far as the Dutch captain with James Caan), it was awesome.

I can't act a lick, nor would I care too, but I'd sign up just to see Biehn! I loved his commentary on the Quad extras. Hilarity.

And also get paid for the first time in a while. Bills need to be paid." Ah, hell if I had the money, lived there, and didn't kind of suck at acting (there are worst actors...but I am not good enough at it to ever make a living) I would probably be all over this!

OK, well I can't even remember my lines. I think you need either talent, or memory. Hah.

Personally, I've always enjoyed your flicks, Becks.
I haven't done any acting since high school, but I'd go just to hear what Michael Biehn has to say.
