Sideshow Toys has updated their production blog for the new AVP: Requiem diorama: "I was very exited when Tom gave us the 'green light' to work on an Aliens VS Predator: Requiem Diorama, since I'm a BIG fan of the AVP comic universe. In fact, I have a few original designs for several dios based on this comic universe that I did a long time ago but never found the time to start working on. So, I took some comic covers from my AVP references files, the more iconic ones, and mixed them with the AVP:R movies references, choosing my favorites poses from comic and movie scenes. I built a fast 3D model, just for concept composition poses, and Voila!
After I got a ton of AVP:R movie references, I start working on the Predator Wolf head, helmet and body, and also on the Alien's heads. At the same time, the rest of the team was working on the Aliens' bodies and Wolf accessories. In the end, after a lot of great work and obsessive care from all of the Gore Group and Sideshow team (like freaking always!), we created this great Kicking - Alien-@ss battle scene! By the way, did I tell you that I’m a BIG Predator fan? Eat that Aliens!!!!!!"Based on the diorama I'm not really surprised to hear the artist is a Predator fan... There is more to the blog, plus a bunch of images from the diorama work-in-progress, if you want to visit Sideshow Toys.
