Click Here! (The backdrops/posters are HUGE) Received these in the post this morning and advised they are 'week 42' teasers for the Ridley Scott Alien prequel scheduled for 2011. The prequel story to the 1979 blockbuster has been mooted around the net as Alien: Origins and Alien Origins, but the latter seems to have won out if you can believe these.
I note that one of the alleged teasers employs both the headline fonts used in the original movie and in James Cameron's 1986 sequel Aliens.
It was a sparse communication, so take it with a pinch of salt - could be the backdrop to a current round of Fox meetings or just a bit of fan-art...

Most likely fan art.

Yeah, maybe. But 2832x2000 pixel resolution and some professional touches keep the possibility open that it's an early, early Fox teaser.

The 20th Century Fox logo. It's not like you can just google it and slap it on there!

I'm not looking at them from the poster angle, more: could be the backdrop to a current round of Fox meetings

Concept teasers are always shyte aren't they? Just thrown together as an idea. The official Rambo V teaser has a picture of Stallone from Rambo 4 on the cover!

Exactly! I can remember seeing the AvP2 logo for the 1st time and thinking it was the biggest piece of shite ever! But the Strausi were quick to point out it was just a temp/mock-up thing. Much like these pieces could be. Btw, the new Rambo sounds insane.

Yeah, Stallone was definitely high when he thought it up!
But still, hopefully they are real. Because if they are real, it shows a lot of forward movement on the film!

Yeah, it's understandable that it's a bit quiet because it's a film pegged for 2011, but at least if these are real it will feel alive and kicking instead of "who the hell knows if it's still on?".

I say "Fan Art." It lacks the finesse of a professionally done piece... especially the second one... jeez! And it's not hard to grab the Fox logo and drop it on there. However, if it was done as a concept teaser it was likely done in-house and hashed together, as opposed to being farmed out to an actual agency - hence the rather amateur look to the pieces. The 20th Century Fox logo. It's not like you can just google it and slap it on there!
Actually you can. Clicky

I was being sarcastic. I like how the light is blazing around the eggs. Think that may have took more than 10 minutes to achieve unless it was just a stock photo ripped from somewhere else.

I just hope it doesn't end up as Alien Origins.
