it definitely is way different but its been made in the movies nothing can be done about it! its officially canon! it was a queen though it created the nest at the hospital and created many aliens!

Canon schmanon. Just like Ripley 8, the Newborn and the Antarctic pyramid, it's overly ridiculous and deserves to be ignored.

Smiley newborn would be different canon its from the alien movies! i agree all those ideas were dumb especially the story they created to make them both fit in the same continuity(that's ridiculous) aliens bred for the hunt(RIDICULAS) few changes to the predalien and it wouldn't be so bad!

It's canon in the AVP universe, not the ALIEN universe. Wink  Seriously tho - we could debate what is canon and what isn't until the Predators come home.  Though the films are generally seen as the most authoritative and official source of material for the sagas it is still open to speculation as to whether the AVP universe is one in the same with the ALIEN or PREDATOR universes.  Just remember where AVP had its start.

As for the Predalien being a queen because it built a nest.  Did we ever see it build the hive?  How do you know the adult aliens didn't turn the hospital into a hive? The Queen didn't make the sacrificial chamber a hive chamber in AVP.  There was no queen in ALIEN... Lack of a Queen doesn't mean there is no hive construction.

Indeed, after all, it could be argued that the aliens shouldn't even have skulls (solely Predator 2's claim) since we've always been led to assume they have exoskeletons.

Likewise it's a bit odd how in Predator 2, set in 1997, the police are all armed with futuristic guns, yet gun technology has seemingly regressed by the time AVP comes around, set in its then-present day of 2004.

Then there's the fact that AVP uses the name 'Weyland' to establish the early days of the company, not 'Weylan'. I can happily accept the idea that the 'D' may have been added during Ripley's 57 years MIA during the which the company had a corporate rebranding resulting in a new logo and a new slightly altered name for perhaps international/intergalactic marketting reasons (in the same ways Jif became Cif, Dime bars became Daim, Oil of Ulay/Ulan became Oil of Olay etc.) - but to have it go Weyland, Weylan then back to Weyland seems a bit strange. Not that it couldn't happen, undoubtedly stuff like that has been changed back in the real world before, but it still doesn't sit comfortably with me.

I just explain the stuff with "Weylan" as being stuff they took because the company planned on throwing away material with the typo. Cheesy

Or a re-branding from Weyland to Weylan, and then some retro style re-rebranding some 60 years later putting it back to Weyland again.

The aliens seem to have exoskeletons, but maybe they have endoskulls. I dunno. They are alien.
