WOW! I just watched both of these amazing documentaries! This is above and beyond anything you would ever see FOX doing!
PS. Just wanted to add that it really looks phenomenal, sharp, in focus. The cameras must have been of high caliber and the DVD compression was fabulous. During the interview with Terry Rawling I got a little captivated with the equipment behind him (as I love audio & video eqip.) and there was a cassette deck that I couldn't stop looking at the buttons. After a close-up on him I noticed why, there on the deck was the Nakamichi logo. I'm not sure how many others would have been able to pick that out, as I am using a 215" screen, but it just goes to show how well this was made.
Glad you liked the films, hopefully there's more to come but for now I'm in the middle of the fan film, tomorrow I drive down to France for 5 days to capture more Alien influenced people. I thought it would be good to show my camera kit that I use for the interviews. The Z1E is the one I operate while the rest are attached to very cheap tripods (£9 a piece) and just sit there on static record. Top is my old faithful Sony Z1E (HDV cassette) Left is the Sony SR290E (standard definition - 16:9 - internal hard drive) Middle is SR8E (HDV - internal hard drive - 1440x1080) Right is the Sony SR12E (true HD 1920x1080 - internal hard drive) Far right is the Zoom H2 microphone with removable SD memory chip. You need a good mic as the audio side of cameras have not been as good as hoped for in the past so the Zoom H2 gives superior performance at a great price. I edit with Sony Vegas v8 (it's pretty stable) and for the final render I do a 2 pass encode using the Mainconcept mpeg codec.

truly amazing movie, cannot give enough praise. The first movie is something very special for all of us who saw it when we were young in the 70's.
Seeing these Gentlemen with vivid memory of that time is fantastic. I truly wish that I could go back in that time and be on the set with them...... .
A very big thank you to dennis and Hicks.
The big plus for me is that I'm learning more and more about this movie by hearing these different stories from various perspectives.

Wow Dennis, may I call you Dennis?, that is some nice equipment. What you said about the microphones on cameras is true for just about any cam. Luckily you aren't doing music so you only need the one mic. At some point you need to get in front of the camera, maybe for Alien Makers III. *hint hint*
I'm very glad I had holiday time (Thanksgiving over here) to burn the DVDs right away as my external drive that I saved the ISO's too took a bad fall last night and it seems I've lost everything on it. At least now I can copy them back onto a new drive.

Please do call me Dennis as I always feel a bit uncomfortable with formality. I hear your pain with the hard drive saga, it happens to all of us some time, mine happened a few months ago with the now famous 'Seagate Brick'. The problem was in the firmware of the Seagate 7200.11 type and after exactly 320 lines written on boot up it would cease to be recognised by the computer bios therefore the term 'brick' is descriptive indeed. Mine happened almost a year to the day it was purchased. After some sweaty searching I came across a saviour page that describes how it' was possible (with a few electronic components) to reprogramme the firmware and restore the data (as it was always there) to being useful yet again. Phew, don't want to go through that again. Here's a link to one of the many threads relating to this issue: http://ireckon.net/2009/05/unbricking-a-seagate-barracuda/WARNING to all owners of Seagate drives 7200.11 - they will go eventually if you don't update the firmware, if you don't then you will have to go through the route of reprogramming it yourself as Seagate will only replace it with a blank drive and your data will be lost.
