We've another tasty treat for hardcore Alien fans today as the editing script, owned by Terry Rawlings, and as seen in the Alien Makers II documentary, has been scanned in and uploaded to our image gallery. Dennis Lowe, who took the time to scan in all 240 pages, also provides us with some additional details on the script: Everything was scanned from Terry's script, if there were any notes at the back of pages then I scanned them as well.
If there weren't any notes on the back of some pages then I didn't obviously bother to scan a blank page.
The colored pages are additional amendments to the original script as the film progresses and they change color as they are added through the period of production so it's a visual reference as to when they were added (the production usually gives a colour chart indicating which color was used at a certain time during the shoot).
Any additional notes that Terry made (usually sellotaped to the script) I have scanned as is and also scanned them separately as well so that it's possible to read underneath them.Again, all 240 pages can be viewed in our image gallery. Many, many thanks to both Terry and Dennis for sharing this with the fanbase! Enjoy!

This is great. Really enjoyed reading all the changes to the script that happened, especially when Ripley is trying to find out what Ash is up to after Dallas dissappears. And look how neat Terry's handwriting is!!

Hmm, so the Nostromo in this version of the script came out of Houston rather than the Solomons. I guess the reference to the Solomons must have referred to the Solomon Islands then

In the June 1978 Draft theres no mention of where they are out of it's just: RIPLEY
This is commercial vessel Nostromo. Registration number 180246. Do you read me. Over.
But in the December 28 1978 draft it's Solomons...Interesting though, why the Solomon Islands? if it is the island it's refering to.

Well, maybe someone will ask Ridley Scott or get him to publish his unadulterated character background notes.
I wonder what Ivor knew about this sort of information.

In the June 1978 draft there's a sequence where Ripley goes looking for the Annex key to access MU/TH/UR after the Airlock sub plot. While looking for the key in Ash's blister she hears a tapping sound and it turns out to be Kane's corpse outside the window, this was also Ridley Grammed. This scene is featured in Terry Rawlings edit script but in this version while looking for the Key Ripley finds video evidence of Kane's x-ray and a clear picture of the creature growing inside. Years ago i came across an article about this scene and someone pointed out that the video evidence segment was just a rumour and officially ' untrue' ..Well this script just proves them wrong This has been an interesting read so far and i'm enjoying it
