According to Sega Australia those crazy dingos down under, I'm looking at you dudelove, have refused to classify the pending Aliens vs. Predator game in the country's rating system. Here's a snippet from a report at IGN: Aliens vs. Predator is the latest game to fall outside the classification guidelines for Australia, with SEGA today confirming that it has been refused classification. SEGA Australia representative Vispi Bhopti made the following statement:
"SEGA Australia can today confirm that the initial submission of Aliens vs Predator has been Refused Classification by the Classification Operations Board of Australia. We will continue to investigate all options available to us, including the possibility of appeal".
While we haven't seen the report yet, we've been told the reason the game was refused classification was that it features an extreme level of violence across the game as a whole, as opposed to the board objecting to a particular scene or aspect.Paul Hogan would roll over in his grave. If he were dead, that is. For the rest of the story visit IGN.

You forgot the best part! The quote from Rebellion themselves! "The content of AVP is based on some of the most innovative and iconic horror movies, and as such we wanted to create a title that was true to the source material. It is for adults, and it is bloody and frightening, that was our intent. We will not be releasing a sanitised or cut down version for territories where adults are not considered by their governments to be able to make their own entertainment choices."
