Would you work on the Alien Prequel seeing as Ridley Scott is at the helm again?

What are your thoughts on the direction the design of the creature has taken? (I recall him not being terribly impressed with the direction ADI took).
Do you think the Alien would look radically different if you had been asked to design it today?
The problem with coming up with questions for the man is that between Giger's Alien and his existing interviews, there's not a whole lot left to ask insofar as the production of Alien is concerned!

So you're standing at a bar when, suddenly, James Cameron walks into the room. What happens next?

What name change? No, I meant why did Sebastian change his username from Rusty Nails to Sebastian. It was a completely off-topic comment.

I'll be joining Dennis in Zürich for the interview but I'm not leaving until Monday morning so I'll check in on Sunday before going to bed if anyone has any questions at the last minute!

Here's my mostly slightly complicated Questions for H. R. Giger, none of which have been asked before in any publicly shared form that I know about, I've just sent them to Dennis, hopefully he reads them in time (and works out the couple of my grammar errors which I've just seen and corrected for here), but I shall share them with you right now anyway 1. In the details across body of the alien, there are many references to the number three, circles at the side of the knees and the hips, bumps behind the ankles, beneath the shoulder wing pipes and as pipe dots on many small discs across the body such as on the back of the hands. The derelict ship has three entrances and three circles are seen in the side of the back of the space jockey's seat. Was there any idea discussed behind the reoccurring presence of the number 3 during the production? 2. People have thought that the space jockey had a skull resembling an elephant's. Did you base the space jockey head on any large animal skulls ? 3. Would you have imagined that the space jockey had two humanoid legs when separated from it's chair? 4. Had you discussed during the time you made Alien what a chestburster that erupted from a space jockey or a cat might have looked like as an adult? 5. Can you tell us about the ideas that led to the Necronom painting series which Ridley used for the movie's alien ? 6. The painting Alien Monster IV ( http://www.biwook.net/gallery/giger/giger-Alien-Monster-IV.jpg) shows a winged, bird headed biomechanoid , it also could well be a homage to the symbolist painter Jean Delville's painting " The Treasures of Satan", and perhaps almost be a new design for another stage in the alien's life cycle. This creature certainly inspired James Cameron design for the Alien queen, they even have the same hands. The painting Alien Monster III shows a serpentine octopoid tentacle like alien coming out of a sacrificial stone and is surrounded by many little ghosts possibly made from the clay sausages like the ones you used during the Alien production ( http://jfjacobs.com/Gallery/albums/SciFi-05/0uro0010_h_r_giger_alien_monster_lll.jpg) Can you share with us something about the ideas in these paintings? 7. What brought you to start painting elongated skulls? Was a Dali's sketch of a female with a skull face and an elongated skull for 1972 for a biographical essay by Ramon Gomez De La Serna something that might have inspired you? (I can't upload the image so here's a link to it on my site) http://web.me.com/wmmvrrvrrmm/The_Wmmvrrvrrmm_Place/Photos.html#0

it's almost evil to think about what I've been sitting on as questions for the last two decades here's the painting treasures of Satan by Jean Delville http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/cas/fnart/art/19th/belgian/delville_treasures_satan1.jpgI'm probably the only one who has talked about that Dali sketch in connection with Giger, none of the serious Dali fans I know of have talked about it either

Excellent perceptions and questions, Dominic. The "metaphysical" re-ocurring 3. A great important insight and observation. The importance of symmetry and almost "cosmic weight". Although to many artists of any merit in whatever area they work in, this is an inherent instinct yours is a wonderful contribution. And of course, Dali figures very much. Outstanding and heartening to see you raise these points. Good perceptive work.
Well one thing, Giger is going to admit Dali's influence in general, and it might be too much to expect him to have known about that "Dalien" image back then, but it would be fun if he knew about it one way or the other
