Sega has asked me to help fill the last few spots available in a community event for the new Aliens vs. Predator game to be held in San Francisco later this week. Here's the details straight from Sega: You are invited to an upcoming community day for Aliens vs Predator! We are very excited to show off the game and give you some hands on time with all our multiplayer modes. Yes, every mode that we’ve had under wraps will now be available for play and we’ll have Tim Jones, Project Lead from Rebellion, on hand to tell you all about them. And to make things even more interesting, we’ll be doing a competition to give away a pair of Astro A40 Gaming Headphones in a winner takes all tournament at the end of the event!
The event will take place on Thursday, January 28th in San Francisco at the Sega of America offices. We unfortunately cannot cover travel for incoming guests, but we welcome anyone from your website as well as your community to come out and play the game. The event will have 10 playable stations, which means only 10 competitors for the Astro A40s – you can bring up to 2 people for the event, but keep in mind the time played will be limited to the available stations. So if you live in the San Francisco area, or can get there by Thursday January 28th, and are interested in taking part in this event, contact me immediately at hicks@alienexperience.com so I can make arrangements to get you into the event. Obviously space and time is a factor so if you are interested don't hesitate. Take advantage of this unique opportunity if you can.

Wait...let me get this straight. If I wanted to, I could fly myself to Sega in San Fransisco to play on one of only ten playable stations for a limited amount of time before the next person gets to play the game and I can bring two friends all at my own expense. And then I win headphones at the end of the day? First of all, don't they realize like 60% of this board are not U.S. residents?

And then I win headphones at the end of the day? I doubt they expect anyone to fly half way around the world to do this. It's just a promotion junket. I'd imagine it'll mostly be locals attending. First of all, don't they realize like 60% of this board are not U.S. residents? Probably not. If you live in that part of California it's probably not that big of a deal. I live in Canada, hence the reason I'm not going. This notice was sent to a lot of sites. I notified Sega I couldn't make it and they asked if I could try to recruit someone. That's it.
