Ok, once again I show how sad I really am... Doctor Who - Remembrance of the Daleks, 1988. There"s a Dalek-eyestalk-view which is eerily reminiscent of Predator, but a thousand times cheaper. But more to the point, when the Doctor advises the soldiers that they best not shoot at the Daleks, one soldier replies ""What do you expect to do then, talk to them sternly?" Iteresting to note that Tip Tipping was the stunt arranger on this story as well. Cute. "

| Hey, that"s my fav Dr Who episode! I didn"t know that Private Crowe was the stunt co-ordinator. That"s pretty cool. "

I love the Special Weapons Dalek and the transmat effect with Davros" humanoid Dalek being superimposed on it - that thing looked weird. But for the love of Terry Nation, when are they gonna bring out Genesis of the Daleks on DVD? (Apologies for going OT!) "

Red Dwarf In the episode "Waiting For God", Rimmer tells Lister to be careful of the artifact they just recovered (which turns out to be a garbage pod) in case an alien lifeform leaps out and attaches to his face, a clear nod at Kane"s fate. "

"Posted at AvP Outbreak on 01.12.2005 at 01:48:20 Found another one today. On the show "Just For Laughs Gags", a type of hidden camera program where the cast plays humourous pranks on unsuspecting people in public places, this one segment involved shoppers and an employee at a mall information desk. Whenever they"d ask him a question, he"d begin to answer but then suddenly go into convulsions, writhe in pain and finally a chestburster would tear through his torso. The shoppers usually ran off screaming . "

"Posted at AvP Outbreak on 01.12.2005 at 13:15:21 Oh yeah, I vaguely remember something about that. ?A little Googling turns up this. Yes, I have a Mini DV camera, I just need to dig up the VHS in my room somewhere. I think I have an idea of where it might be, but I don't know how to get it onto a Mini DV tape.

"Posted at AvP Outbreak on 04.12.2005 at 06:22:36 Of course I have the user manual, you dillybar! Yeah, I"ll check it out when I get some time and find the tape in my room. I know that"s where it is. If it"s crushed under a bunch of stuff, which is where it is, I can"t say that I won"t be embarrased. "

I happened to catch an old episode of "ReBoot" the other night and noticed a few more. First off, Megabyte, the show"s main villain, has a fleet of vehicles called "ABC"s", which look very much like flying APC"s. In one episode, Dot Matrix dons an "exosuit", the design of is undeniably influenced by the power loaders in Aliens. I remember even having a toy of this thing. Then there was a parody episode of "The X-Files" where a mysterious creature was abducting people in Mainframe and is later found to be cocooning them in its hive. The similarities were too many to count. "
