A trailer for the Blu-ray release of the Alien Anthology, as we're calling it now, has been released on YouTube: I'd be lying if I didn't say I was stoked!

Same here. Difficult to tell from that size, but at first glance it looks like they've removed the 'grain' from Aliens during the transfer. Not sure if I'm happy about that or not. Mind you, I guess if they left it in the picture wouldn't have been very sharp.

If I base my opinion on that video...I am probably going to have a fucking coronary when the movies come out. If Aliens is as 'cleaned up' as the recent Predator re-release...I might lose it. Just be ready, I'll be negging motherfuckers left and right.

Predator wasn't actually half bad most of the time. Alot of the establishing shots and night footage looked fantastic. It was mainly during close ups of various characters that the DNR and the ghosting that followed got excessive, especially on Carl Weathers.

Take out a second mortgage on your house and buy a nice HDTV and BD player. It's not that bigovva deal, sheesh! PS: We have entirely too many "Alien Anthology Blu-ray" threads.

And for those of you who may have worried that any of the films will suffer the same DNR-ed fate as the recent Predator Blu-ray, I've heard from multiple sources directly involved now that such fears are unnecessary. All four films have been given brand new HD transfers and the masters reportedly look fantastic. In fact, we've been told that when James Cameron viewed and approved the new Aliens master (Aliens being the most troublesome looking film of the series in the past quality-wise), he was VERY pleased with the results. We'll have more on this set in the days and weeks ahead. More info here http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents

I was kinda hoping to get something for my Betamax... the poor thing hasn't seen a decent release in decades! ...God-damned advancements in technology! Very cool!

I would just prefer not to invest in a format that (for the most part) doesn't offer anything DVD doesn't give. I was never particularly unhappy with the picture or sound quality I had before, so I see no reason to get Blu-Ray for that reason alone.

I have both formats, you won't want to watch DVD again after watching Blu-ray.
