Predator Ultimate Edition: Bluray: UK Version
Well I've waited n waited and finally I got my grubby lill hands on it
the cover I like, better in my opinion than the US cover for sure

Now we come to the disc, menu screens are nice, nothing special, pretty much like the US 2disc special DVD version with a jungle theme.
Extras are all present from the 2disc DVD
we now have all the easter eggs as proper extras in their own right
it all seems to be there with nothing missing but nothing new either which is a missed chance methinks.
Only new edition is the 'sneak peek' at 'Predators' which is really just an extended trailer with RR speaking through it, nothing you haven't already seen I'm afraid so don't get hard over the thought OK. This is actually weaker than the DVD 2disc special 'sneak peek' at 'AvP' which was a mini featurette, no such luck here
There is a set of trailers at the start of the disc which include an ALIEN QUADRILOGY BR trailer!!
simply bits from each film and then stating the fact its BR and coming soon hee hee!! I just hope they bring them out separately because I don't want Alien Res. This isn't new stuff of course, merely trailers but I thought I would point out the Alien one.
One major problem with the disc, dunno if I'm just unlucky with mine (probably) the extra 'Predator Profile' is screwed! big error on the disc, when you go there the picture is off centre!! half of it is missing and has clearly been placed or moved too far to the right
pretty poor but luckily its a lame waste of an extra and the predator on profile is actually 'Pussyface' from P2.
As for the film well its nice, very nice
much much sharper than before, colours are bright and bold and a hell of allot of noise, fuzz and blur is gone in dark sections
hurrah!!
It still isn't stand out amazing as other BR's which is still a shame seeing as Superman 2 is older and looks FAR superior to this, so it goes to show if the effort is really there then the results show but admittedly Predator's original print was pretty bad I think.
Best looking touch ups are clearly peoples faces on close up, their eyes twinkle with life, Pred vision is hella bold haha explosions are really yellow and red now....PLUS!! they have actually cleaned up Dillon's arm sequence fiasco. When Dillon has his arm blown off and he turns showing his real arm tucked behind him, well now you can't see his real arm!! its gone people!! personally that's good, dunno what the perfectionists think.
Overall the best version for sure
apart from the cock up with the 'Predator Profile' extra its a good disc simply because you aren't losing any stuff from the excellent DVD 2disc special edition, shame there's nothing else new which is always a scam because you know they will possibly do another version at some point and a new retrospective with all cast members and director is needed, a good hour long one. I'm guessing the Aliens BR's will be the same, nothing lost nothing gained, but who knows.
