Build up the Ripley-esque woman and then have the Parker clone survive.

I was just thinking 'have the black guy two days from retirement' survive!

One piece of recycled gossip doesn't seem any more important to me than another piece of recycled gossip, but I still wonder where Sky Movies idea that the film had stalled came from, since script flag took their report from them.

Because the movie being stalled was an unfounded lie used to set up a paypal scheme.  Sky Movies got their information from Scriptflags who never cited a source.  It was carried by a lot of sites because the idiots employed by them are paid per article and don't care about authenticity.  The fact that it claimed Fox was arguing with Ridley Scott over two different UK ratings that are both essentially R in the US should have been good enough evidence of that.

Not to mention Scott is a pretty economical director. When you account for guys like Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio and Denzel Washington who demand $20 million dollar paychecks his films actual production costs are pretty low.

Erm, Script flag claim the source is Sky Movies

If it turns into a PG-13 summer blockbuster, I riot.

From Deadline:

Quote
20th Century Fox and director Ridley Scott have just about completed meetings with actresses to find the Ripley-like heroine for the 3D Alien prequel. I'm told that, so far, Scott's favorite is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace. The other names being whispered range from Carey Mulligan to Abbie Cornish, Natalie Portman and Tron: Legacy star Olivia Wilde, the latter of whom met this week. Deadline revealed early this month that Rapace -- who got the female lead in Sherlock Holmes 2 -- was a possibility for Alien. Now, the studio will be heavily involved in the ultimate decision, and I'm told that Rapace's English is a consideration. Stay tuned.

I think Rapace could fit the role. She seems like a "Ripley-esque" character, that we would need for an Alien reboot.  Wink

Absofruitley not. They need to give us something at least somewhat unique, not another shitty Ripley clone.

Ok , so I am thinking Noomi Rapace is in the running pretty hardcore, Although have you heard of this girl Diana Newton who recently put a message out to Ridley Scott?  There is this girl , who kind of looks like all three girls that are in the running mashed together.  She kind of looks like Natalie portman, but seems strong like Sigourney Weaver.

This is her video--sounds like she might be able to get in the running.

Ohhhhhhhh...does she really think Ridley is going to see that and cast her? Ballsy move, but not likely to have much effect. Maybe it'll get her some regional commercial work or something.
