Prometheus Set Report?
« on: March 26, 2011, 07:26:01 PM »

While lurking IMDb looking for news, I came across a thread by a Canadian film student who supposedly got to visit the set. Here's what he had to say:

I met one of the guards or officials and talked to him for around twenty minutes. This is the only film being shot and its bigger than anything he's seen. Pinewood had been the locale for many major films like Resident Evil(whatever the latest version was), Incredible Hulk, Cinderrela Man, X-Men(second one) and this, he says, dwarfs them all.

He told me that there is a set piece which is 3 blocks high and one of the most "alien" things he has ever seen. The highlight was when he said they had build two massive spaceships or some futuristic vehicle which was very un-futuristic.

Of course, IMDb being the hive of scum and villany that it is (I should know, I'm one of those scummy villains) and the fact that he lies about meeting Ridley Scott (But at least he admits it), mean this should absolutely be taken with a grain of salt.

It's a pity that the only direct statement here is that there was something three blocks high that seemed very weird

Toronto?

The sets are being built in Pinewood studios in England -- Shepperton, Surrey. Same place they made the original.

Obvious IMDb troll is obvious?

Dunno.

At the beginning of the month, Hollywood Reporter announced that there was gonna be a 3 week shoot at Pinewood Toronto.

Presumably after that it moves to Pinewood Shepperton.  They're talking about a six-month shoot, so I imagine they're grabbing as much sound stage space as they can.  Or Hollywood Reporter got it wrong.

The poster seems to have deleted his original post. More evidence that it's bunk.
