How does it make you feel when they have to reboot that universe and that creature every time they want to make a new film?
They don't have to. They choose to. We've all had plenty of discussions as to what could make a fun Predator sequel around here. Opinions differ, but I think the general consensus is that it can be done. A good place to start is to flesh out ideas, characters, etc instead of just coming up with a few good concepts and them following through with the minimum amount of effort.

I think it has been too long a gap to continue the Predator franchise and retain any of the charm, or the menace of the original two. Just look at the cringefest that was Predators.

Primordial... deep cold... way below the line...

I didn't mind Predators. It didn't feel too far off from the first film, but I did notice that there was next to no development of the Predators as a species. At least in the Alien films the creatures evolved or were given variations. Perhaps, like Trek, some time off from constant production will allow for new talent to come along and redevelop it. It's hard to let a few years pass without someone considering a new foray into a sci-fi/fantasy film's universe. Let's be patient and hope for the best.

A universe of dark mystery and unfathomable monstrosity lies just beyond the boundaries of our field of vision. In those shadows lurk the Starbeasts.

I liked it too. But it'll probably be a while.

Next to no development? What about the subspecies conflict that the film set up? That seemed pretty massive to me in terms of series lore.
Although; I hated that part of the movie. I don't know why there is always this need to make the creatures in a sequel "massively deadlier" and then proceed to have a lesser hero than the original take them down. It just cheapens EVERYTHING. The Black Super Predators were awful, and Adrian Brody seemed about half as tough as Dutch Schaefer. Had the movie only involved the Predators we were used to seeing; and the heroes had to team up to kill them; I probably would have liked the movie a lot more. As is...I feel about the same as I do with Prometheus. A deeply-flawed film; but one that I own and will watch every now and then anyway.

I don't really see how the Black Predators where any better than the normal ones. I can't really use that fight at the end as an example since the normal Predator wasn't in the condition to fight. And Brody had help, if it wasn't for Braga he'd have died.
Of course we can apply that to Danny Glover too then, in which case that particular well had been pissed in for ages now.

Next to no development? What about the subspecies conflict that the film set up? That seemed pretty massive to me in terms of series lore. We were shown a stronger vs. a weaker breed of Predator. We saw a caste system and social Darwinism in the Predator culture. Logical additions but not ones which greatly alter the audience perception of the species, nor one which might enhance any future stories, in my opinion. The film didn't offer any revelations or lore development on par with the Prometheus plot point of the xenomorph origin relating to the Engineer's biological weaponry. As is...I feel about the same as I do with Prometheus. A deeply-flawed film; but one that I own and will watch every now and then anyway.
No offense meant at all by this but Hollywood loves you and franchise fans like you. Buying a film just because the title and some of the elements are tied to your favorite franchise tells the studio that they've done well and should continue along similar lines. It's a part of their crazy numbers game. If something is going to change it will take a true, cold boycott.
