I just can't get my hopes up anymore, I'm tired of getting disappointed. But with everything that's come out so far I find myself getting excited again. I hope I don't regret it... again. But with Riddles, Fassbender and Pearce alone I'm fairly pumped!

I was excited for Alien vs. Predator. I was excited for AvP R. I was even MORE excited for Predators somehow. I think the more excited I was for the movie, the MORE the movie actually ended up sucking. Maybe if I'm completely apathetic towards this it'll be a good movie.
And then again, it does have Scott at the helm. (even though Robin Hood sucked)

I kind of warmed up to Robin Hood on second viewing honestly. It has a lot to do with the fact that whereas Cameron and Lucas try to show off their MS Paint skills, Scott legitimately tried to create Medieval England.
Not to mention I have the biggest feeling in my gut Scott probably shot it as an R and the studio cut it to PG-13.

For me, all of the movies post Alien3 (I got into the series after Alien3, making Rez my first theatrical outing) had something that gave me hope that it would be better than the last.
Action! Action! Action! Guns! Guns! Guns!
The guy who did Event Horizon! That movie was exactly what an AVP movie should be. Dark, atmospheric, gory, rated R. This is the man for the job!
No more PG-13 nonsense. Action, gore, an homage-based soundtrack! Aliens laying siege to a small town, a small band of rebels. Aliens meets a zombie/survivalist movie. This is finally going to redeem the entire franchise!
Robert Rodriguez, one of my favorite film-makers is involved! An alien planet, a cast of strong supporting actors.
In the case of Predators, I was jaded enough to be skeptical, so it wasn't a major let-down. But I did walk out of the theater thinking I just paid for a half-assed product.

I can't believe you guys are so optimistic about this. Fox has screwed us how many times in the past? It was bad enough they chose to give us the AVP films and bastardize the alien creature now they're doing the unthinkable, giving the alien a back story. The Jockey is some mad scientist, eh?
