Fox have come out and put the prior plot synopsis to bed. Here what they offer in return. "Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe. Wow, this is so weird. I watched The Messenger not too long ago, then saw trailers for The Mechanic and was thinking to myself, that guy would probably be good in an Alien movie... Excuse me while I construct my tinfoil helmet to block Fox from reading my mind further.

Reminds me of my take on a standalone Alien/sci-fi film of a bunch of strandees on a foreign planet where a subterranean alien signal genetically alters human DNA through micro-vibrations in the air. Or something..

Mercifully short lived TV series Threshold was like that. Alien signal/vibrations from an alternate dimension altering humans into killers and mutants... |
