Hey chaps
I was going to post my own thread but im not sure if the website allows for that. So I just want to post here. I believe a few of you gentlemen worked with my father neil swan "back in the day" if i remember right Dennis was the gentleman who was kind enough to put together the commentary from my father at his wake about his experiences working on Alien and for that I'll be forever grateful. Unfortunately I gave the DVD to my uncle who lost it in his state of grief.
Luke
I have to say I
Hi Luke .. I will never forget your dad, I always joked with him that he never did any work, they just got him because he was such a great an funny chap " Oh new film?.. We must have Neil !" I would have done the same as a producer ) kept the team spirits up he did! Damn good idea Australia , I tried to do that and failed !

Am out in the Canary Islands casting and scouting locations for my short film BID TIME RETURN.
Came on the internet briefly and saw your post here, Luke.
Your father made a big difference and a big impression on my life. We hung out together quite a bit and became quite close and stayed in contact for some years after ALIEN was in the can.
We connected right away and he had the rare ability to laugh at himself which is always the mark of a rare human being. Plus, as you say, he always said "You'll be SorrySon" and my japes and green stupidity and mistakes made him laugh a lot too. We had an empathy. I recall one night at his place we stayed up all the way through watching Orson Welles LADY FROM SHANGHAI. He knew his movies.
He was, and depending on your beliefs, still is, a great spirit!
