William H. Macy apparently auditioned for Alien: Ressurection

William H. Macy shared a story on Conan February 4th, 2013 about him blowing the audition for "an Alien movie directed by a French guy" (paraphrasing here). Based on the details of the story it can be assumed that the movie was Alien: Resurrection and the role was that of Dr. Gediman.

Not sure if this had ever been discussed prior to his appearance on Conan, but I don't recall it. An interesting alternate reality to imagine.

Very interesting near choice there. He's a good actor though. Wouldn't mind seeing him pop up in a future film.

I never had that big of a problem with alien 4

But even despite my general fondness for William H Macy,
I wouldn't consider his "character" touch being any more of an attribute towards the O'bannon/Giger world then ridley or james camoran


The FEEL of the "ALIEN" world is O'Bannon's as far as I care

Admittedly owing a honeypot to Ridley,
and Ridley's Metal Hurlant fixation at the time

But the true "Alien" world was only ALIEN!

(arguably including Darkstar),

and died with O'Bannon!
