Fox has announced via it's many social networking sites that an official trailer for Prometheus will be released this coming Thursday, December, 23rd via iTunes Trailers. Here's the trailer for the trailer: I have to say, and I've said this before and been disappointed, but I'm getting really excited for this film! Nice touch having music from an Alien trailer in this video.

I have to say, I agree. Been nothing but disappointment from me since 1997, and every time I think of reasons why this one will be better...thinking the same thing now. The movie looks pretty good, and unlike any of the other flicks we have seen in the franchise. Looking forward to the proper trailer.

Anyway. When they have to announce a trailer...um. That kinds seems like I'm going to see the trailer and see the movie. That's pretty much how things go these days.
There are way to many moments in movies now where I'm like "I saw that part in the trailer already."

Can this wait? I need to do some calibrations

I get the feeling everyone is going to be disappointed by this movie. Not that I am not excited about the movie, its just that it will never be Alien or Aliens. And then if it is, then everyone calls it derivative and it is terrible.
Then again if it is entirely different and something new and just related to Alien in small ways people say it is not enough Alien and therefore a disappointment.
This movie is between a rock and a hard place I think.
That I being said I am really siked to see this badboy.

I'm still not wetting myself over this one. I get the odd feeling that with all of hype about this being "an ALIEN prequel/but it's not an ALIEN prequel" that what we get will be about as connected to ALIEN as Blade Runner is to ALIEN.

As long as Jar Jar Binks does not appear in the movie. I think it will be okay!

That is obviously not true. What we know from the ad campaign and leaks thus far proves that the movie is basically about the Space Jockey race. True, we probably won't see an actual, penis-headed alien in the film...but it's still very much so linked to the '79 film. What troubles me a bit if this quote from Ridley... "Therefore, who is that, inside that suit? That wasn’t a skeleton, that was a suit. And if you open up the suit, what do you get inside it? "

At this point I really don't care how much it's linked to Alien, or the series in general, if I get a good quality sci-fi flick, that I know Ridley can produce, I'll be happy with that.

I didn't say it was rational, but it's just something that's been lingering in my mind for a month of so. What troubles me a bit if this quote from Ridley... "Therefore, who is that, inside that suit? That wasn’t a skeleton, that was a suit. And if you open up the suit, what do you get inside it? " Oddly that comment doesn't bother me as much as his "Chariots of the Gods" comments.

I'm excited for good sci-fi, but my loyalties lie with the Alien series.

Same. We can judge how it links in with Alien (or not) later.

This film might be like prison sex. Not as good as the real thing ( first film ), but better than nothing, takes the edge off you know.
